I am 40 and overweight, bowling is more my speed for physical activity. Suffice to say, I shall never step into a ring, perform in a ring and come remotely close to being a wrestler, yet I still love the art of wrestler. So it pisses me off at some of these low end wrestling shows that barely trained to not trained at all wrestlers are performing these moves poorly. So thank you for showing how a piledriver should be perform.

@SantinoBros3 жыл бұрын
Correct. This is not exactly the same driver. I don't know what Owen and Austin were thinking doing that inverted Pile Driver.
@brian-vz5hz2 жыл бұрын
It was Owen's fault and botch. Owen was supposed to drop Austin like a tombstone piledriver which is a far safer way to execute the move as you already know. Instead Owen chose to drop the inverted one at the last second for whatever reason. It was a planned piledriver however. Of the tombstone kind.
@MoneyManHolmes Жыл бұрын
I’ve heard that story many times and I know both wrestlers seemed to agree with it, but I don’t seem to remember the tombstone being a move Owen would do, and I don’t know if Undertaker would approve. It was just a weird botch all around.

It CAN hurt to the untrained person who tries to bump (fall) on it. You have 12 (2x2) 16 ft steel beams. 1.25 inch board 1.50 inch foam. It's not a bounce house or bed but also it's not concrete either.

@brian-vz5hz2 жыл бұрын
That's bullshit I'm sorry. From what I've read of Owen he was a locker room favorite among his peers. One of the nicest guys in the business. What he did was just a last second bad judgment decision. Austin was too heavy for Owen to hold. Thus Austin's head going below Owen's thighs exposed to the impact. The original plan was for Owen to do a tombstone piledriver on him but for whatever reason Owen though the inverted would look better. Bad call on Owen's part. Nothing was done on purpose bud. Just an unfortunate botch. The risks of pro wrestling.

@SantinoBros3 жыл бұрын
The pile driver is an extremely dangerous move but so is every other move in pro wrestling. ANY move can put you in the hospital. There is nothing safe about pro wrestling. Each bump is the equivalent to a 35mph car crash. We do it because we love it and because we're all a little crazy stupid for wanting to destroy out bodies. Also Owen hart did a inverted pile driver (which is rare for obvious reasons) which gave Austin no way to protect himself causing the legitimate injury. We understand your concern but if this is the case you need to have the same energy for everything pro wrestling.
