Thank you for this tutorial! I know how to skate, okay, but not enough to do these "fancy" moves. Other tutorials make it seem like it's something that'll just come naturally in minutes or hours, so I REALLY appreciate the transparency that it took you longer with regular practice. Now, I don't feel so inept for not getting it quickly. 😅 🙌🏽

Skating is definitely now something that just comes naturally 😂 it takes a LOT of practice and some people are just blessed and it comes easier to them. For the rest of us we need to practice a lot hahaha

I love how humble you were when you called yourself a high level beginner. As an intermediate beginner, I'm always so happy and excited to teach the beginner beginners. To know that you are having this much fun learning, makes me even more excited to learn from you. Keep up the amazing work! You're an inspiration ✨💛

Dee, Back to skating at 70 years after a 55 year hiatus. You taught me the backwards strut. The key tip was the angle of my foot. Thank you so much.

I had been STRUGGLING with my strut walk and almost gave up on learning how to do it. Your segment about foot placement made the difference! I was not rolling backwards before because I was not placing my foot back down diagonally. Such a huge step that other tutorials were missing. Glad I came across your video. Thank you!

Yess I had the same and it took my months of trial and error before I figured out the issue

Girl I love your instructions!!! Currently in China and trying to find in class teaching is pretty much non existent. And finding good tutorials are difficult. I find a lot of beginners teaching beginners which is cool and all because yess to sharing knowledge. But I love that your brain is similar to mine!! A perfect fit! I think this is the second trick I learned from you that helped things click with the move. Before I def couldnt move backwards at all but it was the slant of the foot and the weight in the baby toe for me!! Keep them coming!! Cant wait for the crazy legs tutorial!!!

Your officially my new favorite KZbinr ❤ …. What are the things on the front of your skates? I just started skating on September 1st and I’m so determined to learn, I’m still in the falling stage 😂

I honestly gave up on this one, UNTIL I came across your video. Awesome instructions 😢 Thank you for including how you progressed over the months as well, a lot of videos I see on KZbin make it seem like they came out of the womb skating. Just subscribed 💕

I am SO grateful for this tutorial. It's the only one that truly helped me to get it right. I still have a long way to go to find my balance but your video made me understand why I couldn't figure out this move before. And all the others tutorial I watched were like "learn the strut walk in 5 minutes" or things like that. And I was struggling so much with this and didn't understand what was wrong with me. But thanks to you, I spotted the problem. I'm still at the point where I have to put my back foot on the ground before placing it to the front but your video is actually the only one that reminded me to be patient with myself. Thumb up from France.
@DeeDellimore3 жыл бұрын
Soo happy it helped you! Yes I also thought something was wrong because it took me monthsss to learn. Turned out I just didn't understand the move correctly. Just keep on trying and drilling the moves. I might take a while but you will get there!

Notes: do crossocers with your toes facing in (towards other foot) and your heel facing out (foot diagonal) and weight on your little toe. Remember to transfer weight to your back leg. When moving foot from underneath you can lightly tap your foot. Knees bent, start with a little push backwards
