Glad I found this fantastic video. I was able to follow your step-by-step process and changed my oil and filter today. Took me about two hours. I was very methodical and slow. But, not bad for an old guy...68 years old. I watched 3 times thru and made a detailed written checklist on a yellow pad...I know, very old school. Picked up the kit at the dealer (20 miles away). Oil was dirty and filter was black, at 14 hours. Should have done it at 10. Switch Cruise 21 230. I offer this longer narrative as encouragement to others. If I can do it, you can too.

Do you have a video on how to winterize the spark plugs? I found a video on flushing the system and putting on the battery maintainer but can't find anything on the spark plugs. Thanks!

I don't. But do you have the XPS spray? You can use that by spraying it into the the spark plug hole. The SeaDoo jet ski and Switch use the same engine. Take a look at this vid I found. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYmpga2entJmi8Usi=Rm8mzLi3xQCeBK3l

@@TheOceansideGuy Thanks, that helps a little bit. I’m not with the boat right now, maybe it will be obvious how to reach the spark plugs when we start looking for them. Would you be able to do a quick video on where they are in the Switch and the tools needed to remove them? Thanks for help! 😊

Great video, thanks - I agree that the service cost is crazy but will changing the oil yourself void the warranty?
@TheOceansideGuy
@TheOceansideGuy 27 күн бұрын
Good question. But I gotta say I have never heard of such a thing from anyone after these years of changing our own oil and or spark plugs. I really would not think that would void a warranty. I wish I had an exact answer for you. I would think of it to be just like a vehicle if you change your own oil that should not void your vehicle warranty.

@ thanks - I asked as a friend of mine had their warranty claim denied for their Hyundai SUV because they did not have record of professional oil changes. I Imagine that could happen with a boat as well. I would definitely ask if I were to buy a boat.

Thanks for the post. FYI.... I had my switch serviced at FBC. $533.00 Apparently the service agreement I purchased does not cover seasonal maintenance. According to the Service Dept BRP states the first service is 100 hrs. So they did not cover it. Needless to say ... I cancelled the contract and will be doing my own seasonal maintenance

Wow, $533! You might as well just give them one of your arms. That is crazy! Well, as you can see in the video it is very simple to do and you won’t be out of pocket $533. I appreciate you chiming in and I’m glad the video helped. Definitely share this with others that would like to save over $500 on their oil change.

Great video and instructions. Side comment: is it me or does it seem like you were able to take out almost 5 quarts of oil using that WestMarine extractor? If so, it's quite remarkable as the max engine capacity appears to be 5.3 quarts (per spec sheet). Typical oil change calls for only 3 quarts to be 'accessible'. My only worry is whether the amount you added from the kit (3.5) was enough. Disclaimer: I am not a Sea-doo owner!

Typically the factory will overfill. For whatever reason I’m not sure. That’s why in the video when refilling the oil we checked it before we put the rest of it in. The oil change kit does come with the exact amount that should be poured in to the Seadoo switch. And when we checked the dipstick, it was good to go. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
