When y’all put the logo perpendicular to the left side instead of parallel, the whole thing had literally gone sideways. It was a hilarious video to watch and I’m definitely adding this canopy to my wish list.

@@tcbrowntx When we initially set the logo in the right direction it quickly went awry. You are right… The problem is when you start to read the words it starts to really contort what actually is being said. The instructions were far too technical and should’ve been much more simplistic considering how simple that the actual design is. Are conclusion of simply popping it up and putting the polls and what’s the best thing we could’ve ever decided… Sometimes too many words are not needed LOL

lol.... we both decide it was important to keep it real!!! Looking back it is always easier to give advice because of experience... we now know those 3 steps would make it much easier.. so now others can now that they don't need to stress.. instead try the 3 steps!!

I will say the instructions for this are very poorly written. What should’ve been three simple steps turned into 12 very complex steps that clearly we’re not written for the average human trying to put this together… It was complete chaos but in the end we figured it out LOL

My surgery got canceled due to Dr taking day off. I did go in and he now knows I really need to be fixed up. So they took me off schedule and am waiting for new surgery date. I certainly like the tarp idea! That would illuminate some more of the moisture and it would also reinforce even further the bottom. Although it doesn’t really need the additional bottom because it has very sick material. However always better to do more rather than less LOL we ended up getting the hang of it and love the space so much it ended up giving us a wonderful place to be both inside and outside where we can get a good ventilation but also to close up the windows at night to keep the air from coming in. Super super nice

Typically if I am giving a first impression I try not to watch anything else regarding how to do it. I have all the instructions just to be exactly what they are. when in the middle of the flopping sides it becomes disorienting... if the poles would have gone in first this could have alleviated much of the confusion.. by the time they were in we were so out of sorts it didn't even phase us. Grab a piece of tyvek and cut it to the size of the bottom. Use it as a ground cloth (like with a tent) and it will keep the bottom dry. The tyvek can then air dry really easily and be packed away.

My goal has always been especially in things like this to show the reality because a lot of times we can easily be swayed to purchase some thing that looks simple but turns into something that is harder for us to use when we actually receive it. My goal was to follow the instructions exactly because that’s what the average person would do before they pull out a KZbin video. And as you can see the instructions left a bit to be desired. However it was actually achievable which I think gives everyone a little bit of hope that it can be done much easier than it looks to be on paper LOL

Most vans seem to have the same kind of doors in the back, that you have. Don't feel bad. It looks like it would take more than one person to put that up and understand the directions, that may not be all that clear. That is so cool that you both are sharing it with your vans.

Most do unless they are mini vans... this could be done pretty easily with one person following the 3 steps after the posts are in the box is much easier to move around and flip if needed

I have a screen tent that works just like this. I personally think these things are best for rooms away from the Van. Use the tent or screen room for an extra space. I like to keep the bugs out and trying to attach to a Van would leave lots of holes..

The holes are actually to a minimal with all the zippers!! And when sealed down correctly with magnets didn't have any issues with bugs! Thank goodness!! I love this thing now that I have used it a couple times!!! And standing has to be my favorite aspect of it since I cannot stand in my van.

It is always wonderful to spend time with friends especially doing something like this LOL the space itself was perfect for us to be able to enjoy after assembling it and we actually have something that we will share in my next Saturday upload about this that made it even more valuable to the two of us while traveling together.

Absolutely… We had several people who are watching on and volunteered to help however we were trying to do this video to show the difficulty level of following the instructions. They are much easier ways to do things sometimes in the suggested way and it’s all about finding what works best

I love this thing!!! The initial video of us putting it together was super fun to share.. but following the three steps it is literally a less than 5 min assembly...and that room it creates is amazing!! I LOVE this thing!!! I can cook in it.. we set up at night and zipped it up and it held our heat in when it was cooler... I enjoyed standing up and getting dressed each morning!! And best yet NO BUGS!

Wow that was incredible watching you two putting the magic cube together. I’d like to make a suggestion. If you plan on using it in rainy weather. There are many products on the market for sealing the seams to prevent water getting in. The product I would use is 3M scotchguard. I currently have sprayed all my pop up tents that way I shouldn’t run into a leaky situation when we get rain here in the North East. I wish you the best of luck with it. I’ll keep watching your channel to see how much use you get out if it. That looks like the perfect extra spot to be a patio for when it’s too buggy outside. Also on a windy day you may want to tie it down so it doesn’t blow away.

Yes, it made sense at the end.. but when standing on the back side everything starts to blend because it is only marked on the one side... lol... ideally marking it on both sides that need to be parallel would make it easier to keep up with such a large item...

I saw one of those carsules about a year and a half ago when they were first getting to the market.... I was just putting my 2009 caravan no build together and deciding on options to expand the space... At the same time I discovered the Clam shelter... How to make a tough choice Bunny because I could not afford both I went with the clam shelter for a couple reasons at the time it was more reviewed and there was more information about the product and for the big price tag on both of them I decided the clam shelter was going to be more durable over time probably.... The big downside of course it doesn't connect to the vehicle directly but that's okay I can drape an awning in between them and connect them a little bit.... I cannot wait to see more details about the carsule from you..... I think that's going to be absolutely phenomenal for the connected expansion of space

The flooring that comes with it is pretty nice. It’s very similar to a rug only it’s a heavy durable felt material so it softens the bottom of the floor but also protects it. I really like it. I have considered putting a tarp underneath however to keep a little bit more moisture or dirt off of the bottom.

Once you get it put together correctly, use a marker to write on each side, top, and bottom ... maybe use arrows to help. So proud of you both!!
