I spent the entire day organizing my embroidery files, using your ideas and direction. I cannot tell you how much it's helped me wrap my mind around the file system. My files were all over the place, but not any more. They're organized and I hope to keep them in good order. Your instructions are so clear and easy to understand. Thank you so much.

OMG thank you. I am a beginner with machine embroidery. Just got my first machine for Christmas so I have been watching video after video and your video is awsome. I do domestic violence work in the court system so I sew and am venturing out to learn machine embroidery as my relief. My Mom taught me to sew when I was 13 years old and I am thinking about retirement. I have saved your video and will be looking for more of your videos. Thanks again and wish me luck.

Hi!!! Just purchased the Embrilliance software. I have four Brother machines X 4 years and ONLY NOW, getting to know how to best utilize their capabilities Thank you for this video!!! I am 57 years old but DESPERATELY needed to learn new baby steps in order to “walk” with my machines:-). Since I am not computer savvy, with YOUR tutorials, I FINALLY “get it” and understand how to do more. Being new to You Tube, well, wow!!! So much info available. But I must say, I have subscribed to a few channels, but YOUR channel is the ONLY one that I turned on the notifications bell 🔔 ;) I look forward to “catching up” with ALL your videos that I have missed. Your time and dedication for helping novices such as myself is truly appreciated 🙏

Hello Becky. I am not new to machine embroidery. I began back in 1995. Needless to say it’s changed over the years. Back in about the year 2000 I purchased a program called Embird. It did all of the things that both of the software programs you were using and even more. You could digitize your own designs in it, you could turn a photo into an embroidery, instead of using just the file name it also had a thumbnail of the embroidery, so if you didn’t know the name you could just look for the picture of the embroidery. I’ve been sick and haven’t embroidered for about 8.5 years now, but I did try to keep up with progress by watching KZbin and visiting stores that had machines and fabric. I said all of that to say that I was afraid I wouldn’t understand the new way of doing things, but you made it so easy to understand. It really hasn’t changed a lot. Mostly what you use to get the designs to the embroidery machine. Thank you so much for this video. It has encouraged me that I may still have the ability to use my embroideries I saved to discs for a back up. Embird gave a free 30 day trial and then the full program (which had a lot more to it than I could put in here) was around $89. When windows went from a 16 bit system to 32 I think, they took a long time trying to convert to the new. It was about the time I got sick. I don’t know if they ever made the switch or went out of business. I’m going to try and find out. I hope they are still in business. It was a powerful program. I’ve got some research to do. I still have My Husqvarna Viking #1+ machine and back a few years ago my husband got me a Singer Futura Quintet. I would never have gotten a Singer if I were involved because I’ve heard they are junk. I sure hope not because it has some really big and nice hoops to go with it. I have just unboxed it. I haven’t used it yet. Thank you for the encouragement to get in there and use it. Things haven’t changed so much that I can’t understand it. If I don’t I’ll ask you, LOL. Have a blessed day. Thank you again. Elizabeth

Becky, I am relatively new to embroidery and quite a novice when it comes to computers. However I like alot of people use my cell phone for everything. So convenience sake I'm wondering if there is a cord or gadget or app that i can use to download embroidery designs directly from my cell phone to a usb drive and then to the embroidery machine. I've asked in my Bernina 830 group and no one seems to understand what I'm asking for. I've purchased a external cd drive because I have several Anita good designs and my new laptop doesn't have that drive available.

Thank you so much. This is not in the manual with the machine and without this you are so limited. I too got about a 20 minute teaching session and have struggled trying to figure out how all this works so just started doing more quilting. There are not so many KZbin sites for instruction on embroidery. I think much comes because there are so many different machines. I will really start again working on more embroidery thanks to you.

How funny. I started a "how to embroider with the Solaris" video tonight. Someone asked for it. I'm not showing all that stuff you are doing. I just showed where I get my designs and how they keep them for you and you can download them forever. Very nice! I don't want to go through the zillion kinds of stabilizers either. I'll let you do that. (-:

Beckie I start with the alphabet A and the designers in it starting with the letter A. From there I go through from Alphabet, Babies Christmas etc. all the in the file from each person. I go through the hole alphabet the same way. It is so easy to find what I want that way. I am enjoying all the information you are sharing and I am saving them to a file too.

Excellent Thoughts! I have a separate book for fonts, with pictures of fonts to make it easier to choose. I remember downloading one letter at a time to my emu machine, rather than download it into digitizing software, which takes up valuable memory space. Good idea to clean off machine occasionally, too.

Thanks for sharing this video. I'm getting back into computer jargon but I will say I have figured out most of what you've already told us tonight. I do a little extra step. I save it into three places once in a file folder (vendors ) I set up listening all the different vendors I use. Next I save to a file folder (My Designs) in that folder I break everything down by subject (Animals, Flowers, Poodles, Misc, Quilting, etc) and save by subject then copy to my USB stick. I do rename the files and print out the design with the color change sheet from the web site and catalog into a binder under subject. That way I can flip through my book looking for designs. I Premier +2 as my software , when I pull up the design I can change colors to see how the look and reprint the design once I've finished editing. I find I change colors a lot to my preference. I scribble all over sheets I keep in my book recording which fabric /stabilizer I used, and if I changed a color again. I just got my embroidery machine this year and I have been testing the designs I like and thanks to you I have been introduced to different designers (if you mention someone I go check it out). I hope to design my own (after I find the time to learn my software) . Love your channel. The biggest problem I've had so far is selecting the stabilizer. I had one design shriveled up after pressed it. Currently I'm making a Dog Grooming apron for a friend " Poodle in a Tub" I have a lot of Poodle friends and if I make the something I change the Poodle to match the dog they are currently showing. When will you give out the information for your Embroidery Along you are I think I want to try it. I have downloaded several EIH projects but haven't had time to try them yet. Trying to many DIY projects at the same time on the house, plus train and show dogs. Really need to Fix a leak on my travel trailer!

Wow! That sounds like a great organization system. (Wish I had the time! lol) So long as you can find what you need when you need it, you do what works for you. No, I have the same machine as you and I have not hooked up my laptop to the machine. Using a USB stick is much easier to me than dragging my laptop around. However, manufacturers have made that possible because many users are unsure of how to do the transfer process I describe in this video. It's nice that they allow us to do what works for each user based on their skills. I'm pretty sure our machines don't read Windows 10 which is what I'm running. Ugh, that's miserable. You poor thing. I made a video a couple of months ago with a tech tip that said to go buy a 2 terabyte external hard drive ($80) that is easy to find at Best Buy, Amazon, Costco, or Sams. Hook up that drive to your machine and set your backup settings to backup to that drive each week. That way, with one click, you can do a full restore if the unthinkable happens again.

@PowerToolsWithThread4 жыл бұрын
Not a silly question at all! I'm like you have I have a mix of threads. It's rare that I have all the colors that are called for on the pattern. I get as close as I can and use what I have. I'll use the print out to give me an idea of what color to use and then write down the number I actually have right next to it. That Flourish is a great little machine and I love that it uses a 6x10 hoop so that gives you a lot of options for the larger designs. Embrilliance is a fabulous embroidery system that is purchased a-la-carte so you only buy the parts you need instead of spending thousands on a very fancy program - most of which you'll never use. Embrilliance Essentials is what I have used for years and it's on sale now for $139. Here's a link. embrilliance.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=6 Here's a great intro to Embrilliance from Itch2Stitch.
