The demo version has the option to post code disabled, so a post is not needed to practice and learn how to build toolpaths. Not working if you have license. For access, the Mastercam license must include maintenance. I have Mastercam 2017 but not the maintenance, is there another way to download post processors?

Correct, anyone who owns a license of Mastercam can download and customize post-processors for free. If you are using the free educational edition or do not own a license this would not apply to you and the post processors would not be helpful in any way.

No, a license purchase is not required but a Mastercam post would not be of any use if you don't have a license of Mastercam to use it with. Free posts are updated and hosted on the Mastercam Tech Exchange as a service for subscription customers.
