I finally found you! It took me a long time to find you but I AM SO thankful that I’m here now. You are the Best. I’m not a hoarder but I’ve been trying to downsize for years.. I sincerely thank you ❤

The "keep only things you'd be willing to pay full price for," is a great tip! I find that I can easily get trapped in that mindset of "Oh, I mind need it some day." and then it just ends up junking up my space when I don't really want it. This is a good mind-frame to get in before making decisions!

Thank you! We're between the 5 days and 1 year timeframe (much closer to the 5 days) for downsizing our home, and these tips are very helpful!

I like this guidance, our basement is truly over cluttered, and I finally realized that I am addicted to hoarding tools of any kind, Luckily our house is not cluttered, but the basement has become overwhelming. I have been attempting to get things under control and it gets overwhelming quickly, but I want to try this technique and sort specific tools. keep the one or two needed, and either sell or donate the others. Will be watching more or your videos' very helpful and full of practical ideas.

Are you helping a client, friend, or family member downsize their home this year?

There's SO much in these videos. I particularly liked "live in the present" because it made me think about it from a different angle. Downsizing is a creative endeavor, like a sculptor who chisels away stone to reveal the beauty. We're going through our homes and removing the excess to create a beautiful lifestyle. The way you described it, shedding the accessories of a hobby isn't loss, It's opening the door to new possibilities. That's exciting! I'm very interested in hiring a professional. I'm trying to recover from the last move which was bombarded by stress. It was our 3rd long distance move in 4 years. We'd moved 2600 MI for our son to to have 4 brain surgeries. During the move, while I was being fasttracked for surgery, we lost our 22 yr old daughter to suicide. I packed her apt then injured both knees and was unable to walk much of the last 2 months prior our move. I couldn't think well enough to make good decisions. Now we have her things and our things. Grief complicates sentimental items, but I've made flatlays of her things so the photos are more representative of her and friends have enjoyed them on social media. That's my spin on "share stories".

I'm dealing with a backlog of hoarded items that go back 100 years in age. Why isn't this mental illness more openly discussed? 😅
