Please while cutting on the fabric how do you include the calculations of the pleats in the radius for the blue dress? Did you add the number of pleats to your waist measurement to get the radius ? Thank you ma
@GG.GiftGodstime7 ай бұрын
Like I explained in the video, firstly u will determine the no.of pleats u desire for e.g I want 8 pleats. Next you will also determine how wide you want your pleats to be for e.g 3inches, since it’s inverted pleats it requires two pleats coming together i.e to get one inverted pleat you have to take this 3inches width multiply by 2 which will give you (6) so now you are working with 6inches for one inverted pleat. So you will use this 6inches multiply by the no of pleats i.e 6*8 = 48 so now to get your desire pleats you need 48inches just for the inverted pleats next you will add ur waist measurements for e.g 24inches for waist then add you zipper allowance for e.g 2inches so the calculations will be 48inches pleats +24 waist measurements +2 inches zipper = 74 inches so you need 74inches. Now if you want a 180 degree flare shape as the video illustrates you will use this 74inches to divide 3.14 the value is 23.5 this is your radius. You go ahead and mark 23.5 starting from the apex of the triangle, once you draw the curve the left over is what you will determine how long you want your length to be, with this calculation you will also know the yardage of fabric u will be using.

Thank you so much. I have been searching for how to cut and sew this pleated circle skater dress.

@@GG.GiftGodstime so from this explanation I'll only need to cut a single 180 flare? Not two (as in front and back)?

Thank you so much... please if one adds a crinoline at the hem of the fabric together wity the pleats, will it increase the fullness? Especially if the fabric was not cut as a flair but pleated as a straight fabric
@GG.GiftGodstimeАй бұрын
Cutting with flare gives this ball dress shape compared with straight cutting. Straight won't increase the fullness if that what you are aiming at. Only 180degree, 360 & above degree flare will give it that effect. 90 degree & straight won't. It will just look basic

Nice dress can I Make boxpleat with strech velvet
@GG.GiftGodstime6 ай бұрын
Yes u can, but the outcome will not be the same, different choice of fabric brings about different outcome i.e (from the waist line where the box pleats start it will be obvious but as it flows down the effect of the box pleats may not be seen due to the fabric) if the fabric is too slippery for you to handle add interface at the wrong side of the fabric to make it abit firm.

Thank you so much ma, can we make hard net under it if we can’t make a petticoat? And d
@GG.GiftGodstime8 ай бұрын
Yes you can but I don’t recommend for kids because of two reasons 1.) it can cause discomfort if it gets contact with their skin. 2.) it’s shrinks almost immediately after washing.

God bless you ma. I'm addicted! New subscriber. Please is the blue gown a 180 or 360 degree flare? Please how do I make the petticoat for kids to achieve the fullness?
@GG.GiftGodstime Жыл бұрын
The blue dress is cut in 180 degree flare. There are several ways to make petticoat for kids and also materials matters as well

@@GG.GiftGodstime Thank you for the swift response. I'm grateful sis. However, I'll be grateful if you'll be kind enough to illustrate the petticoat, even though it's paper illustration or mini sketch. Secondly, Is it possible to use tulle instead of hard net to attain this level of fullness under the blue or a satin dress?
@GG.GiftGodstime6 ай бұрын
@@christianaudonsek7025using tulle net to achieve this kind of fullness will require you to use 25-30 yards of tulle which will be so heavy for the child thereby making the dress uncomfortable for the child due to the fact it’s ankle length not a short kneel length balldress. Just like wedding gowns, no bride want to wear it for a long time because of the weight.
