Ur bodice method is d best.very simplified.,..ma I used the very method but d arm hole is so tight I can raise my hand without d half-length part of blouse going up...I think the arm hole measurements should be used.i had to draft another bodice like u did first, then measured my armhole and checked it with what I have on my bodice...I had to adjust it.after sewing, d arm hole wasn't tight.pls ma wen sewing princess dart.do u draft t sleeve before, doing the princess dart.cos wen gapping has been eliminated on the princess dart, d arm hole is shorthened,and it will not match with d already drafted sleeve. Good day madam. Thanks for commenting. I draft the princess bodice first, the adjust the sleeve armhole to accommodate the tightening we have done on the bodice by slashing and reducing/ lapping. If not getting it, simply use your free hand to draft the sleeve. Thanks

Hi ma'am, happy new yr.pls I want to aski noticed u don't use arm hole measurements wen drafting.in a case where the arm hole measurements is taken from.a client,eg 24"and by the time the elimination Of gapping is done at the arm hole region,the arm hole round now becomes 22" sewing allowance inclusive.wat can I do? Sure! You can have the princess at the back as well but no contouring at the back. You simply follow the dart legs to panel.

No, not at all. You are not to add the allowances back. It was an excess in the first place which we wanted to remove. So do not add back. Thanks

Not automatically like that. If your back is wide too can result into gaping. For LAPERY's bodice, front is wider than back ( that is 1), then back has fittng lines too. All of these affects gapping or no gapping.

Thanks for asking. Garment will gap at neckline if neck is low, wide and bust is full ( bust noticeable)

Yes the under bust tightening determines the tightening at the armhole.( ½" less always)

Thanks for commenting. One needs to tighten armhole for armhole princess because there is usually excess( gapping) there.and what you remove is a function of what you remove at the under bust.

How you dey madam.? Don't fall my hand oooooo You be my no 1 KZbin before now😁😁. The rule is this ; after under bust tightening, you go back to your styline where you transfer your side dart to and tighten with a difference of ½ to that of underbust. So I'd under bust tightening is 2", armhole tightening will be 1½. That is all. But in a case of sleeveless, after all of the above, you will remove half of side dart to tackle gapping.

No!. The 1.5 is not standard. It is based on the amount of excess taken out at the under bust. There is usually a difference of ½" to that of the under bust. I took out 2" at the under bust, so I will be taking 1.5" @ the armhole. Kindly look up my video on guidelines to contouring for more insights and clarifications. Thanks for commenting

Thanks for commenting. There are different basic bodice pattern. I make use of the side dart which I feel is easy and which I had developed a model from. But itnis not all body structure that will give side dart. The side dart is what guides you to know how to take care of neck gapping. I recommend you buy our paid class on CONTOURING for more applications. Thanks
