Yes, this model is great. It’s super quiet. It cools really well and there’s hardly ever any water in it so it is self evaporating. I highly recommend. Thanks for watching.

It's it still self evaporating in dry mode or do you need to hook a drain line to the upper port?? The manual is not clear at all

I know and this one’s only 8000 BTU and it works so dang good and it’s quieter than all the other ones that I used. I think it’s a winner. Thanks for watching. Stay cool this summer.

Thanks for the video, I just bought a portable AC and have a setup where I put it on top of a sturdy stool and have a large drain bucket sitting right underneath the drain. I was wondering, why are there two drains? In any case, I opened up both drains so they can drain directly into the bucket

One is for condensation off of the coils I believe and the other is a dehumidifier from what I understand. Good luck thanks for watching.
@TomLeeman
@TomLeeman 23 күн бұрын
When you put it in dry mode, that’s like a dehumidifier so it would be trying to pull water out of the air. You may have to check it and see how much it pulls. Good luck. Thanks for watching.

Youre not gonna get water out of the upper port unless you use dry mode. Im trying to figure out if you need a drain line for dry mode. As i know you dont for cool mode though. Thats the bottom port, and only need to drain it to take the weight out before moving it.. the manual is not clear if its the same for dry mode as it is cool mode

I bought this model 4 days ago at Costco. So far, it's read "E5" 3x, which shuts it off and must drain. I've had to drain daily. Tons of water. In Washington state. Unfortunately mine is upstairs, on carpet and heavy so I'm considering adding a hose. Manual says "draining only required during high humidity" considering FLA is way more humid than WA, I'm a bit concerned. It's becoming super annoying to wake up in the middle of the night to a room at 89 degrees.

Make sure that you have it on cool and not dehydrate. We had it running for a couple weeks and it didn’t accumulate very much water and it’s super humid here these are supposed to be self dehydrating. I’m not sure what’s going on with yours. It must be really humid there.

I’ve had this same one for a week. What a champ this unit is. The manual states you don’t have to drain it. And I haven’t

Is that water from running the AC only or did she run the Dehumidifier?
@TomLeeman
@TomLeeman Ай бұрын
We ran the AC by itself, but for two weeks and it did not really accumulate any water. This is has a self evaporating system, which is pretty cool. Stay cool.

mine drips out a full gallon in a day on cool. I need to know what size tubing to buy for it to have a better drip syystem
@TomLeeman
@TomLeeman Ай бұрын
I believe the unit comes with a tube so if you take that to Home Depot, they should be able to match it but if not, here’s one on Amazon amzn.to/4cqZW5t

You don't need a drain line or to have the port open at all in cool mode. I've ran mine for weeks. It has a self evaporative system and uses the water as a cooling system for certain parts. Though I can't find a straight answer on if you do need a drain line for dry mode or if still functions same way

what size interior diameter did you need?
@zAlaska
@zAlaska Ай бұрын
I used 3/8 inch polyethylene tubing on my Toyotomi portable heat pump that comes in 100 ft rolls at Lowe's / Home Depot, with a shorter line available. You have to get a tape measure and measure the size of the drain and get what works for your machine and where you're going to have it drained. Elevated, a short hose to a bucket, if not to the outside, or a drain. Mine drains into the crawl space. Being portable, bring it to the hardware store with you and test it directly at the store for the perfect fit without an error. Remember not to restart it for 24 hours if you tip it over to avoid compressor damage.

Do you need a hose to empty it ! Or is pouring it okay ?
@TomLeeman
@TomLeeman 29 күн бұрын
This thing is self evaporating so it really didn’t have a lot of water in it. I was pretty surprised. I thought it was gonna be filled so I don’t know how often you’ll have to empty it. It depends on how humid your area is, but you can use the hose to do that in a bucket stay cool thanks for watching.

@@itsmelili326- E5 means the water is full inside ( therefore ac stopped) - just need to drain it and ac will start working again. Unless it's in a really hot humid area, the water should not be full too often ( there is a moving device that splashes the water inside onto the heated coil to cool and evaporate).

Make sure that you have it on cool lower the temperature till like 62 check your window sleeves to make sure they’re not leaking and you should have the hot air blowing out and the one pulling in and then if it’s not working, take it back and get a new one this room about 350 400 ft.²
