I’m in an airbnb with unhelpful hosts- the portable Logik GLP-09 Port aircon has been leaking everywhere- i have it on Full Heat setting- there seems to be 3 drain ports- top and bottom ones have black rubber caps on them but the middle one doesn’t this is where the water is pouring out of. Does anyone know it also needs a cap and should they all remain sealed? - i am going to drain them all now and hope i will not need to clean up a floor full of water for the umpteenth time.

I hate this AC unit with a passion. Have TOSHIBA RAC-PD0812CRRC and gone through 3 of em in 15 years. My 3rd one right now won't stop having to be drained from the upper valve or it will spit up water from the top. I have no clue what to do. I live in a place that has very little humidity, ugh. If anyone can recommend a better brand/model, PLEASE do!

Great video! But oh my gosh! I forgot about draining. We never drained it and we used it for about 2 months in 2023 and 2022. Will it grow mold?! Now I am scared. I live in New York, so humidity is not a big deal, and it has never overflowed. But it shut off spontaneously twice, so maybe that's why. Eeekk

I don’t know if it would have mold in it, but you can just rain it out and maybe when it runs it also helps to evaporate some of it

I didn’t even know you were supposed to drain these units, I thought that was only for the Dehumidifier mode. I just checked the drains on my unit and nothing came out and I’ve had it for a few years. Does that mean I’ll need to try and drain it more often after applying this chemical?

I had bought one for my tenant, but did not realize it needed draining. I didn't know what didn't know. So after paying my handyman a hefty amount to pick one up, buy some wood reinforcers for the vent pipe, unpack it, etc., he realized about the drain. He was really mad. So he took it back, but that whole activity was costly. The location of placement would not have been conducive to his moving it around, and unscrewing these caps and stuff as he is handicapped. So, placement and ability to drain them is important. I have a de-humidifier, and I have to empty it three times a day, and for me that is no problem. You live and learn.

Mine came with a rubber plug tethered to the upper drain but there wasn’t a cap and nothing comes out. The bottom one has a hose in it but again, no cap came with it. It flooded the corner of my bedroom and no water was in the drain hose, in fact the drain hose had a little lint in it and was dry! (Not enough to plug it just a tiny bit) but no water. Can’t find what it’s coming from. Pretty sure this thing is just a POS

It must be coming off the coils, but they’re supposed to drip down into the one bottom drain. I can’t figure out why that would be doing that.

If you have much at all coming out the bottom plug, or just dripping out the bottom, check for the factory suction line insulation coming unwrapped and allowing condensation to form. Re-wrap the insulation and secure it with a zip tie or two. You should have a hose into a bucket attached to the upper plug. Don't try to take the back cover off without watching one of the videos on it.

Usually if it fills with water, it automatically shuts down. It shouldn’t be leaking. It should only have water coming out. If you unscrew the plug you have to make sure that that plugs in and screwed on tight on the bottom.

Not sure if you rge answer to my question. I have a similar air conditioner with the sane tubes for draining. It has been crazt humid recently maybe only one or two days this week. I have had to empty both drains everyday as I have water on the floor underneath the air conditioner everday. The drains drain a lot of water daily. It was barely humind, I just had air conditioner mainly to cool the room. Anyways any ideas why there is so much water daily? It could be leaking from somewhere. Someone said it could be clogged. I tried to unscrew the back, but unsure to even see if they are clogged
@TomLeeman3 ай бұрын
I do believe that one is the humidifying and one is from condensation on the coils so you could put tubes on both of them leading into a bucket and then empty the buckets or just drain the machine I know in Florida I had to drain it every day is it so humid here so very humid area that may be the case. Yes, you can or, you could put it in a bucket they give you a hose with the unit that you can do that with

Can I attach a hose to the bottom drain and run it out the window so that it continuously drains and not have to worry about emptying it?
@TomLeeman4 ай бұрын
You could give it a try and see if it works. It’ll have to go against gravity to really push it but that could be an option. Good luck stay cool thanks for watching.

If you have a drain hose attached to the upper or middle outlet, why do you still need to drain the bottom? Mine needs draining after using the heat mode despite having a hose attach to the middle outlet.
@TomLeeman10 ай бұрын
Depends on how humid your place is I have to drain both ports
@maketaco66832 ай бұрын
why do these units have 2 drain holes instead of 1 big one at the bottom? with a dehumidifier function, would expect much more water. I bought and returned a Midea one built just like this one.
@TomLeeman2 ай бұрын
I believe one is for condensation of the coils and the other is for dehydration. Good luck stay cool.

I have a carrier brand a/c, but it seems like they are all OEM, i did notice a Midea brand a/c identical to mine. What i want to know is what is the different between the top drain hose and bottom one, and can you just connect a hose and lead it to the drain, because my room is very hot, about 35c sometimes, a 5 litres container fills up in about 8 hrs, is this normal. is it best to leave some condensation water in the a/c. thanks
@TomLeeman Жыл бұрын
Yes, you could connect that top drain directly into a bucket we’re in Florida and it’s super humid here so we have to drain it every day. The bottom one I put a sheet tray under it. Good luck thanks for watching.

Sorry guys ... that little amount of water is what escaped while removing and putting drain plugs . You should know that the more water removed from the air the cooler it feels, which means that any air conditioner is capable to act as a dehumidifier: and for the Toshiba to act as such, one needs to use Cool Mode and Hook up the drainage tube to the upper hole using 1-2 gallon bucket to catch it WHILE the Toshiba is Running! You can expect 1 pint+ per hour if you live in the south.🙂
@TomLeeman2 жыл бұрын
This definitely sucks water out of the air and it has a control setting to dehumidify but just putting it on cool pools a lot of water I had to drain it every day thanks for the tips and good luck with your AC
@ianmackinnon24272 жыл бұрын
Every air conditioner is a dehumidifier, if it doesn't fill just leave the water in it and it will splash on the hot condenser, evaporating it sending it outside and making the unit more efficient
@derejfirde9235 Жыл бұрын
@@ianmackinnon2427 Are you saying that you can just leave both of these holes closed up and it will just send the evaporated water out the window?

I’m in the south and even after a few months mine had little water in it. If it dries the air and produces water, what does the Dry setting do? The same just better at it?

Excellent excellent. With the horrible heat and humidity now, my two drain hoses have to remain open with a heavy towel underneath. One of them filled up so bad I had to carry The towel in a bucket
@TomLeeman Жыл бұрын
I would just try to use the bucket if you could or you can put a sheet pan underneath it to catch the water

Make sure you vacuum out all 3 filters every 2 weeks! These units cost a lot of money and need care. If you don’t vacuum it out on schedule, dust bunnies will completely take over the inside of the unit and you will be chasing overheating issues for ever!!!😂 every time the season is over, I literally open my shell of the unit and clean up the giant dust bunnies that grow inside 🎉🎉🎉🎉
