I've done optics professionally in an engineering capacity because nerd stuff just comes easy to me, but drawing has been one of those things I've been wanting to do but never really 'got' since I was 12 working through "Drawing for the right side of your brain" and it just continuously evaded me. You are not only a talented artist but a fantastic, methodological instructor. Love your stuff.

My shadow core has been getting in the way of my good side for photo ops! I did learn some good stuffs - been drawing with my mind on the bus when I don't have my sketch pad with me. Interesting exercise and it helps me observe things for laying them on paper later! Thanks for the vid.

Your pile of pens... great reference in real-time. Well played!

In this video, I go over howk to properly light a cylinder so that you can shade it the right way when using pencil or markers. Using this technique, you can pretty much light and shade any cylindrical object fairly accurately so that your sketches and drawings will read well... howk

It's wonderful to watch markers and pencil being expertly used. I really thought they were going to become obsolete with computers and wacom pads.

Do you prefer the cold greys for creating shadows or toner greys? And how much greys do you suggest for making a nice blend? Im using T1, T3, T6 and T9 is the gap between them too big to make a nice blend?
@sketchadaydotcom9 жыл бұрын
The gap sounds right. Toner gray is nice. I prefer cool grays.
