I couldn't get the same results they were getting. Then I watched yours and you make it look so obvious and simple. I have since tackled the little Blue tit I was trying to do and I'm now much happier with the results.

The thinner papers are just as good really! I always opted for a thicker paper as I'm clumsy and end up damaging the paper by bending it 😂

Hi, what are the equivalent Derwent pencils to the polychromo and the luminance please. Reason for asking is I like to buy British if possible.

I’m not too sure sorry! I only have a small handful of Derwent pencils so I don’t know the shade range very well. Maybe there are some charts online that you could use to compare the colours?

Thank you! I used Fabriano Artistico hot pressed watercolour paper for this but I don’t use it anymore as the manufacturing is different now and it’s no longer smooth 😞 I use Arches hot pressed watercolour paper instead now!

@@shannonmullin I found out that the paper is a major component to reaching the quality of my rendering. I also found out that charcoal lighter fluid is an excellent blending agent.

Sorry about the ads, I can understand they are a little distracting 😞 The adsense I earn from these KZbin videos, while small helps with my business costs so I hope you don't mind putting up with them for the meantime 🤍 To post them to Patreon ad free would mean having a second version of each video uploaded with ads turned off, which would take me a lot of time to do for existing tutorials, but it's something I could work on for future tutorials! 🥰

I'm not too sure it's just a stock image I found! I think it's been taken in bright lighting so the colours are a little different to the real life colouring ☺️
