I'm happy to report that things worked out. I made a mistake at first because I didn't realize that the color stop in the gradient I made for the circle was not totally black so I didn't get the full fade effect. The technique of using the screen blending does work, thank goodness! So far all your videos work. Your voice is always beautiful but it does sound like you did this in a church hall as one of the previous viewers commented on and it takes a little bit of the relaxing effect that you have on me away.

For some reason when I select screen transparency, the entire star reverts back to solid white. Any idea why that might be?

I had the same problem, then i realized I was in CMYK color mode and when I changed it to RBG in a web document (as she starts out with) the screen transparency method works as shown. A little research taught me that transparency doesn't behave the same in CMYK mode as it does in the RGB mode.
