I do not use fixatives at all. I use a frame with glass and mat. Or on top of each picture, I put tracing paper. The main thing is to avoid mechanical damage.

This is very beautiful Sheshina. These tutorials are very useful. I have a suggestion. Can you start a new playlist to teach us how to draw each element? For example, lesson one could be, How to draw a sky. In this one you will only draw skies, you can teach us sunset skies, clouds, stormy skies etc. In the sky lesson, you will not draw anything else, only skies. Similarly, you can have lessons for rocks, sea, trees, bushes, waves, waterfalls, lakes. If you can do this. It will be very useful for beginners like me. Also, if you can put comments while the video is playing, how to select colours, how to draw strokes it will be very useful. Thank you very much for lovely videos.

Юлия! Спасибо Огромное! Мне очень приятно!!! Нет, я не пользуюсь фиксативами, лаками и тому подобным. Все фиксативы очень затемняют тон и убивают ту самую пастельную бархатистость. Я оформляю работу под стекло с паспарту. Или просто накрываю калькой или прозрачным файликом и убираю в папку. Пастель боится механических повреждений. Через пару дней в группе ВК, я сделаю публикацию об оформлении работ на наждачке. Заходите посмотреть! vk.com/pastels_videomk

If we talk about what inspires me: I live in a picturesque place in the Russian city of Samara. It's very beautiful there! I take a lot of pictures myself. Also, I watch a lot of photos on Pinterest. I compose collages in Photoshop from photos I like. I try not to use photos without changes. Always something I change a composition, colors... I can delete something or add to the image. Also, I sketch from scratch in Photoshop and then draw with soft pastels. I draw on Plein Air! In general, I approach the issue creatively😊🎨🎥 P.S. I'm back your pardon, my English is not Perfect!😊

Melissa! I do not recommend using white paper for pastels. I use ordinary sandpaper, granularity 1000, water resistant, size 23x28 cm. I buy in building shops. You can use any pastel paper, for example, dark gray. Also, the white paper can be covered with one layer of watercolors or gouache, and after drying, paint with pastels. 😊🎨

My native language is Russian, but I will try to explain in English. I hope you will understand. It is inappropriate to use warm colors in every painting. I don't use rich, open, warm colors. My painting consists of the nuances of a warm-cold scale.

this is a nice composition but the perspective of the bridge does not look right and bridge appears to stop in mid air there is no land mass leading to it and considering the light source there is a lack of shadow tones it appears to have a secondary light source which makes the painting look a bit flat
