Hi. I always wanted to be an architect but my drawing skills are not great. Do you have any advice on how to get better at drawing?
@ProfDrafting7 жыл бұрын
Drafting is not drawing, and I think anyone can do it well with just a lot of practice. Freehand drawing is something else. I think that requires innate skill, but again, anyone can get good with lots of practice.

What was the measurement for the ceiling line? I'm so confused.
@ProfDrafting5 жыл бұрын
The ceiling height can be whatever you want. 9' is common.

Hi hope you can help me please. Thanks for the video. Just 2 quick questions, when drawing an elevation are you only drawing the objects that are against that wall and nothing that is in the middle of the room? And another question what happens if you have a pillar but there is object (s) in front of that pillar how do you draw this? This is what I am really confused about. I hope you can reply soon!
@ProfDrafting7 жыл бұрын
Hi, draw everything in front of the elevation symbol. That's why it's so important to place that symbol carefully; the elevation drawing may look different depending where you place the symbol. So place the symbol first, then do the drawing. Re the pillar, you draw it and whatever is in front of it. So part of the pillar will be obscured by what's in front of it.

create a 3D model then rotate it 90 degrees. Done
@ProfDrafting7 жыл бұрын
You can't do this on site. Easier to have a clipboard and pencil when sketching something up while there.
