Hey, i have white derwent charcoal and black camlin charcoal pencil but when i use white charcoal on black to give highlight will make gray shade so please give me solution?

Hey, I've had that exact same derwent white charcoal pencil, unfortunately the charcoal was too hard. I didn't realize how hard it was until my friend let me use their Generals white charcoal pencil. The only tip I have for that type of pencil is to use more pressure. This would be kind of hard since you would be risking breaking it, but it was the only way i could get the line i wanted... I would definitely try a different white charcoal pencil though.

Excellent wow . Are u using a grey toned paper? Derwent white charcoal didnt work on graphite at all☹️i didn't find any other brand

Yes this is grey toned paper. Usually graphite and charcoal don’t mix the best. I would recommend you buy Generals white charcoal pencil, it’s the one I always get! 👍🏼

I got some white charcoal pencils from Amazon. They are hard and chalky, simply wouldn't adhere to the paper. Are white charcoal pencils supposed to be like that?? Or should I go for another brand? Please help,I am a newbie

Definitely get new charcoal pencils! I started using Generals white charcoal pencils in art school and never got anything else! They are really nice and soft try them! 😌

Yeah you can! It’s doable though the white might mix with the black and make a grey color.
