you could say that "jam" sonic has his face JAMED into half of his head * dies of over dose of funny* out of (terrible) jokes, this is a very good tutorial/tip, this has helped me realize why my sonics always looked a bit off from the image i was using.

I always have trouble with the head spikes. I draw the top and middle one really big, and the bottom one doesn’t have enough space to be the same size. I either have to make it really thin or make it go off of his head a little.
