I'm from Australia and thought you should know that a koala is not a bear; it is a marsupial, or pouched mammal. After giving birth, a female koala carries her baby in her pouch for about six months

Yes, I know. I cheated! I wanted to have the visual variety. It's good though, as it makes a good discussion point when I read the book in schools. I tell children that a koala is related to a kangaroo and ask if anybody knows why.
