Very pretty ^-^ I've been thinking about drawing people all day. I think it would be cool to see someone draw my portrait besides myself 😋

Just a note about correct English; you should say 'beautiful girl' ,nnot 'beauty girl' but thank you for the excellent demonstration!

And about correct grammar. You should print "not" not "nnot" LOL

One thing i wonder, is the choice of the paper size. this looks like 1:1 scale from the original. Is drawing smaller than original more difficult ? what about bigger than original ?
@jeffhreid2 жыл бұрын
Drawing the same size and working with the reference positioned at the same level as the drawing allows the artist to align shapes and work “sight size” this is the easiest way to go. To increase or decrease relative to the reference requires comparative measurements and means the artist must scale and duplicate at the same time.

@@jeffhreid glad for your answer. That is true but i find there is also a paper grain limitation in how small details you can make. Therefore if your original is a small but highly detailed object and you draw it 1:1 it is a setup for failure. I notice that often these paper drawing are from large original pictures not printed magazine pictures.

@@ericastier1646 good point. Unless you have a good understanding of both anatomy and how light falls on form it is difficult to create anything that isn’t in your reference. As a rule of thumb, your work can only reflect what’s in the reference. So choose a high quality reference lit with a single light source providing distinct shadow shapes. scaled to the size of your drawing. You’ll set yourself up for success that way. If you want to work in a different scale from your reference you may want to get a Prospek comparative measurement tool. They make things simple to measure and scale up or down with consistency

The chin shadow is way lower that it should be... The chin shadown should be upper... Yours goes down... And the shadow is horizontal.
