It all depends on what you are taking. I personally believe it is impossible to steal a pose or a generic background. As long as you arent intentionally stealing something iconic like a Jojo Pose or some recognizable building like a Pokemon Center than you should be fine. Take that with a grain of salt though, even big mangaka like the artist of No Game No Life got exposed for stealing iconic poses from smaller artists. I think it's totally fine to take inspiration, but don't just trace or take it fully you know. Hopefully that helps!

@@honoi9508 It depends on how iconic it is ya know. Like if it's something you think is easily replicable than it should be fine. Thanks for sharing! I definitely relate here. It’s a lot of pressure knowing that this one illustration is what’s going to be used as your official reference. The next time you're viewing something you enjoy, jot down on your phone notepad what exactly you liked about it. Honestly, no idea is 100% original anymore, all creators just mix and match pieces they like from other stories and put their own flavor on it. If you like drawing a specific thing more than others, that might help you settle on a genre. Nobody likes working on a project they personally wouldn't watch/read themselves, so take your time discovering what YOU like. I hope that made sense LOL. Best of luck!!

@@ChamberK-1 All good! It's kind of hard to pick up on that stuff sometimes through text haha. I appreciate you taking the time to follow up though! Take care!

I think the 1k word detailed character sheets only work if you have an audience already or if the thing is really gonna be in depth and long. *Looks at One Piece wiki*

Just wondering at 5:43 did you mean lower the opacity? Aren't stuff far away less opaque?
@MonitorComics3 жыл бұрын
You would be correct... I did misspeak there LOL. I was referring to atmospheric perspective, where things fade out in the distance and become less saturated. To achieve that digitally you would LOWER the opacity yes. GOOD CATCH! Thanks for taking the time to correct me!

I know this was a year ago but can you please remake this with you actually drawing examples of something like a stickman so we get an idea of how concepts are drawn and how things are made?

Does anybody know the artist of the thumbnail. I was sketching character and cloth for my story of a guy sent to a cyberpunk style world and imagine how I felt when I saw the thumbnails. Legit that thumbnail has everything I envision how the cloth and style would be for my story. Damn that make you thinks. That so strange, another person having the same idea as you but never once seen earth other. Mind blow

Thank you for commenting! The artwork in the thumbnail is created by an artist duo called ProjectDivider! You can check them out on Instagram, they have phenomenal concept art examples!
