When I was a kid, we used to pass around photocopied sheets of a template booklet (this was way before internet lol), with alternatives for face shape, eyes, eyebrows, hair, nose etc. You were supposed to pick and choose what you wanted, and then trace these out onto a sheet of paper, constructing the face as you went. What you are doing here reminds me so strongly of that :)

Thank you so much David! I've been drawing in the same style since I was a kid. You have taught me so much that I was so close to, but couldn't quite see until you demonstrated it here. I've been drawing in a slightly cartoonist style like a Dragon Ball Z type of style with realistic bodiies. You've just now shown me that if I proportion my face structures into realism as well, the rest can be built upon that! I had an epifany, especially in the eye spacing, where I would put pupils, you start the inside edge of the eye, it's significantly changed everything by just one small insight. Thank you honestly so much Mr. Finch, I am back into sketching again because of you.
