I absolutely love the rubber hose style. But there are very little videos on KZbin about it. So you are very helpful in me developing my own drawings in this style.

I studied these things as a teenager, I'm almost 70 now. It's grear ti see the art live on. It is about efficiency of motion and effort in drawing. Suggesting ideas at its most fundamental level and simplicity.

I'm honored that you found my channel and took the time to comment! I really look up to older artists and animators, and cherish the things I've learned from them. It's so nice to know that what you learned as a teenager has stayed with you all this time💞💖

would you recommend any art softwares for drawing rubberhose and if so which brushes?
@CherryDeluxe2 жыл бұрын
I think any digital drawing app works well with the rubber hose art style because it's so simple :) Medibang is a free program, and I use adobe fresco, which is free with an adobe account (but only available on iPad). Pencil and ink brushes are what I use, and sometimes watercolor brushes, depending on the vibe I'm going for. I hope this helps! 🖤✨

What brushes do you use¿
@CherryDeluxe2 жыл бұрын
I use the basic pencil for sketches, and then a brush called 'Belgian comics' for the outlines :) It's a brush that's supposed to have a fountain pen vibe I think? I like it because it's thick and also tapers on the end. I also use a watercolor brush sometimes for coloring (it's just called 'wet brush 1' lol). And I use a brush called 'soft acrylic' for both! These are all in Adobe Fresco btw :) 🖤

Drawing the oval/palm hand is so annoying X.x
@cbpostservice2 жыл бұрын
as a female, those pointy slender fingers look are not all females. a hand type is not specific to a gender. just like body/torsos, hands and every other part of the body is different. even minnie mouse didnt have slender fingers. it's a wonderful style but i dont like stereotyping it. so i wont.
@CherryDeluxe2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, and every one of the hands I drew can be used for any type of character. I also dislike stereotyping the style, and I started these tutorials to show people that there is more to the rubber hose style than pie eyes and glove hands. Betty Boop didn't have gloved hands, and neither did Betty Davis or other female actors depicted in Disney's 'Mickey's Gala Premiere', and I want people to know about these examples as well! Although I gave it the name 'feminine hands' for the sake of the video, they can still be used for any type of character, and feminine-presenting characters do not always need to be drawn with feminine hands. It is just a reference, not a rule :) 💖
