If your imagination fails you I guess you could use one of your own hands as reference
@ProkoTV

Absolutely!! Just make sure that you push the gesture. It doesn't have to be exactly like how your hand looks. Emphasize the action of your hand and give it a little motion, even when it's a resting pose.

I'm a really bad drawer I have not done hands and fingers in a long time but i do add the finger nails and lines as part of it I watch Archer and they did not add the finger nails to the art but yeah put your hand up look at it and just draw you will get better.

From a very early stage of my artistic journey I drew hands by referencing my own. Then I started using a similar arrangement of boxes as yours, until I just ended up doing it by feel. This video compresses that journey quite nicely, hopefully many people will find it useful.

Best advice for drawing hands: your fingers dont stop at your palm, your finger bones go into your palm with your first section being twice as big as your second and third. The skin and muscle stretches as your move your fingers. This is easier to see from the side. The same goes for your thumb, and your thumb has 3 sections, too.

Thinking of the thumb as a separate box is the big take-away from this for me. I always drew the entire hand as a single "box" and tried to stick the thumb on, never thought of giving it it's own box.

If you're creatively inclined, imagine the joints of the fingers interconnected like a web, as they move together irl (give the thumb slack for this. And remember that the fingers proportions are largely arrow tip shaped, as a whole and to a tiny extent, on the individual fingers.

I don’t even like the idea of having to draw hands without references, spending 12 hours flipping my canvas, zooming in and out 1000x, asking anyone in the vicinity is it looks ok or if they can even tell what it is lmao.
