Many thanks, Harold. I wasn't sure how well known he is in the US - he's massively popular in Europe. He has been played by a number of movie actors such as Peter Ustinov, Albert Finney and, most recently Kenneth Branagh, but this particular Poirot was memorably brought to life by David Suchet in a long-running tv series. Poirot's creator Agatha Christie is the best-selling author in the world with sales of over 2 billion and her other detective creation, Miss Marple, has also been featured in many UK tv films.
