I am a quilter and have used this pattern. My brain feels really good doing the repetitive plumes. It’s very satisfying when you’re working on it as well as when I’m done. When I draw it I make the accent strokes inside using a Uni-Ball Signo Broad - gold or silver. It gives it a classy look to the finished piece.
@betsi_jae11 ай бұрын
That’s wonderful☺️. Using gold or silver sounds great for accent lines. I have a gorgeous purple metallic ink for my dip pens that might look good there too. Thank you for the excellent idea.

@@betsi_jae oooo! I love the idea of using a purple metallic ink with a dip pen! Dip pens are fun to work with. I’m going to try that. Thanks for the idea. Do you have an ink that you like to use?
@betsi_jae11 ай бұрын
@Zenmama979 I do have a favorite 🧡. It's Daler Rowny Pearlescent Liquid Acrylic Ink. It also comes in other colors and it doesn't disappoint . I tend to think of it as a "metallic" ink , though its technically pearlescent. Super gorgeous either way.

@@betsi_jae Thanks 🙏 Those look yummy. I will try those. Do you use a glass dip pen or metal? Any suggestions on dip pens?
@betsi_jae11 ай бұрын
I've never used a glass pen. My favorite metal nibs are by Zebra, for comic illustrators.

This feather design is so pretty! My Mom used to quilt and made some really beautiful ones...one for each of us kids (now older adults) I never got into quilting but loved counted cross-stitch and was pretty good at it. Miss it, but my eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be for such fine work. I've tried a few of your designs...only with a Bic pen and regular notebook paper right now, but am thinking of buying the good paper and pens. Thanks for all you share with us. I really enjoy watching you work.

Yaaay!!!!🤗🤗🤗 THANK YOU for showing your pens!!! I so happy!! I know THAT Tombow PEN!!!! I have several and i love them. Miss Betsi...Temu sells brush pens that.... I'm sure you may be doubtful... they sell a trio pen set that I've put up against my Tombow med-fine brush pen...$6.45!!! If you are so inclined, take a few minutes looking around in there. They have FABULOUS lettering and Tangle worthy brush pen sets! Ok... back to class!😊😊 P.s. thanks for showing me how to pronounce the name Fudi.....funudoo...fondué.... crap... Fudenesco nabisco!😅 you know what I'm trying to "say".❤😊

Hi miss Betsi. Thank you for showing how you make this. I tried to draw while watching too. I found out for me it works better if I start the leaf-like-shapes at the bottom of the stem instead of at the top.
@betsi_jae11 ай бұрын
That's great! I sometimes start them from the base of them stem, but for some reason I tend to start them from the other end most of the time.

Miss Betsi your work is beautiful and so creative. I am wondering what your background is as far as art education or are you self taught. I am just so impressed with you that I want to know how you got into this and how you developed your style. A distant relative of mine was doing a simple art and somehow found out about showing her art at a show and from that show her art went on cups and fabric and note cards, etc. I never knew that shows or opportunities like that existed but wish I had known about 40 years ago when all I wanted to do was pursue art. You make me want to sit down with pen and paper and try your dimensional art!
@betsi_jae11 ай бұрын
Certainly mine is a long long story, but the short version is that I did not go to art school, but I instead earned a bachelors degree in mathematics. It's funny that you ask about his, because it will be part of the discussion for my first podcast episode 😌. As far as drawing, please try it out... whatever gets you started is always a good thing 💙.
