I have like 0 experience with art but I will say this cuz I wrote an icon- layers are you BEST FRIEND. Put the layers on then put them on again. And again. And don’t forget your base color! That’s super important, too. I love this video, and the art is amazing! Keep it up, you really have some true talent here.

I'm new to this stuff. How come you use your pencils so dull? Do you lay down any soft pastel ahead of time? And do you use solvent? Sorry for all the questions! I'm dying to figure this all out. Do you have any more longer tutorial videos? I love your work! Thank you for sharing it with us!

ok, so an explanation since u asked for one. I use the same pencils as they do, prismacolor. long explanations HAHA sorry but there is so much to say about this :,) if u rlly wanna know about the product, i further explain how I think of it, and what I learned in my classes. FIRST OFF.... prismacolor pencils (and repeated later on) have fragile lead/pigment stick, whatever the thing is called. They also layer very well because of it's softness, if you were to put a good amount pressure on the tip of this pencil, it would likely crumble easier than crayola. And you don't really need the pencils so it varies with every person, but I prefer to keep the pencils on the dull side, so the tip doesn't break (whenever i need to add more pressure). Prismacolor is an AMAZING quality colored pencil, they are more expensive than crayola, but it is perfectly fine because of prismacolor's fantastic quality. Prismacolor is known for its high pigmentation and beautiful layering, blending, all the good stuff. So there is really no need to lay anything down beforehand. If you are unfamiliar with the material, try it yourself!! if you buy the small pack it is a great thing to use when testing things out! (and believe me, even if u think u need the larger packs, you don't really need them unless you really wanna get into colored pencil art... and if you really like them, you may be likely to use it up in no time :D) Another thing about the pencils, is that the lead is almost extremely fragile. ever wonder why you sharpen a normal pencil, and the lead just pops out? it is because the lead was broken inside, and prismacolor is very prone to this happening. So try not to drop the pencils :3 have a splendid day, and big apologies for the long text. IF U WANNA SEE MORE one the pencils, i recommend watching SuperRaeDizzle, she loves prismacolor and i'm sure she can explain stuff there aswell on one of her videos somewhere.

Hi, no I don’t use solvent or pastel. Just the pencil, and I like to keep them a bit blunt because it makes the blending process quicker, there are lots of different techniques, but this is just my way of doing it :)

Those are Prisma, watercolor pencils. I find myself wondering if water was used to blend them.

I´m also an artist, and this is exactly how I also do it, what I also love to do, how they already mentioned - base colors , but I like to use markers for a strong base color, the only negative part is that markers are risky and hard to use for beginners, so if you want to do that, practise a lot ! And well, blending , blending , blendig - so freaking important! (Amazing drawing btw , truly inspiring !!)

@dianaatef21 I think this is the way some people blend an I use it to you get the shades of the color you want then just kinda draw them together or something then get a cotton swob and blend it with that I’ve tried it once not with blending but I did try it once to blend my anime eye!
