I use charcoal on catridge paper A3 size. But the problem comes when I'm trying to smudge the light flat strokes and fill up done with a thick charcoal stick. There are patches being left behind and it doesn't look smooth

Charcoal paper tends to have a lot of textures on it. Usually your drawing has to be quite large with charcoal since charcoal is such a broad medium.Ayushi Gandhi

when i was trying to learn to draw i think a problem i had was i was too much of a perfectionist like every little error when something didnt look right it took me FOREVER to fix and it was like every sketch was the one and only or something. like even in ur sketch at 3:40 the bottom lip goes to far right that would bug me until i fixed it
