I absolutely adore your new cloche hat, it’s so lovely and does add that extra touch to your outfits, especially for church. I also agree, because men dress at a standard of modesty, we as women need to follow suit.

Thank you! Yes, when I think of modesty I remember it’s from Latin ‘modestia’ which means "moderation, sense of honor, correctness of conduct.” And that makes so much more sense than just covering yourself to hide your beauty like Muslims. That’s immoderate. Balancing how we look compared to the men simply makes sense to me

I love this! I am LCMS Lutheran (the traditional and conservative ones) and I see this making a comeback in some of our circles, almost exclusively among the younger women. However, I am in my 40's and am embracing it as well. Yesterday my mother (78) was visiting for Easter and we talked about her childhood in the 40's and 50's and how women always wore hats in church. My parents were married in 1964 and every lady in their wedding photos was wearing a hat, including the bridesmaids. The way you dress for church is about respect- for God, your neighbor, and yourself. Going to the Lord's house is an occasion. Proper attention to your appearance needs to be paid.

@@pepetono72 I consider myself very lucky. I’m so glad to have my girls. It will be a new adventure raising a boy. I only had one brother and he was the youngest so I didn’t get to grow up with him. Now he’s studying in the seminary for the priesthood

Yes! I enjoy coming up with outfits that both give Reverence to God and show a bit of Personality. I wear a lot of different scarves I find at thrift stores. Now I feel very odd entering a Catholic Church / Tabernacle w out something on my head. Thank you, Abbey (my name is Abigail)... Love this and I will def watch where you speak of Interior preparation, I think it about time to bring some STYLE and FUN to dressing for TLM!!
