more kobe breakdowns please. he really simplifies the game of basketball at another level. why use all these fancy dribble moves when all you need is a good jab, seeing if the defender drops down, and a jumper.

really really good video, us young players need more of these breakdowns because we actually learn the game from different perspective.
@soramirez54734 ай бұрын
he learned this watching MJ and Bird. great. that's why this gen with the "bag" and the "skills". really all these players are doing are OVER DRIBBLING and taking crazy long 3s. Didnt Clay also score over 60 barely holding onto the ball? THAT is how you play. ball movement, player movement. Good Job Kobe!
a perfect guy to disect as a guy who got points, and assist with minimal dribbles and time of possession is bird. The guy legit NEVER held the ball for more than 3seconds or dribbled more than 3 times per possession to average 24 and 6. Btw i find kobe's off ball game to be his most underrated skill. People thought he was just an iso scorer. He can play in a team offense

4:52 that's not a give and go; that's a "blind pig" from the triangle offense; If the scorer is denied, have someone flash up in between the ballhandler and scorer for a pass, scorer then cuts backdoor and gets the 2nd pass.

did they lose that game? The score was tight even with Kobe scoring 65 or what have you. great analysis. I like seeing the somatics and game of inches where he (and other elites) takes advantage of what the defense is giving him vs forcing it | over-functioning. Might be really good for young players to see.

Masterfull basketball... most skilled player EVER. He could easy dribble 300-400 times to showoff, Harden or Kyrie style, but that is not real skill, real skill is what he is doing here, what MJ use to do... break them all, with 1-2 dribbles, or better yet... no dribble at all... that is highest level of skill. Fact that he only used 3 crossovers in all this is nuts 👍

I just heard mccants say Kobe is better than mj because Kobe has counter moves on top of Counter moves to get by more than just his defender. Thank you for a good explanation on how Kobe kept it simple in many of those plays, and the important of not dribbling if unnecessary. That being said... It seems to me many of those shots were bad shot selections, in the sense that some were heavily contested. And I think Kobe may have abused of those too much during his career. No doubt he was a great score, but at what cost? How much volume he had to put to score 30 plus? What was his efficiency overall and, on insight, is better for a team to have a player that takes so many shots, instead of distributing the score among players who make less points, but at a higher efficiency ratio? I take the players in this video may not be the best example Just some thoughts
