George Daugherty from your comments, I highly doubt you're older than me. I just refuted your initial statement and you respond by making another irrelevant claims. Whether or not he would have won 7 or 8 championships if he trusted his teammates, we would never know but that wasn't my point. You said he had "shitty court vision" which wasn't the case. Kobe was a student of the game and had very high IQ. He was just selfish and didn't trust his teammates enough to pass them the ball. Had nothing to do with a lack of court vision.

Kobe mentioned this a few years back - he got inspiration for his patented fall away jumper from a cheetah. Back in 08 during the Olympics, he said he needed an escape move/little wrinkle to his jumpshot that would make it "un-blockable" as he coined it. He said he was watching animal planet with his two daughters and a documentary about cheetah, and I'm guessing how it's able to accelerate so fast without comprising stability, came up and it detailed how the cheetah's tail was always balanced and firm and was able to provide enough stability while its limbs did most of the acceleration. Basically, the cheetah's entire body not just the limbs, help provide stability while accelerating quickly. This is what inspired his "kick out" on his fade-aways- it helps him balance, explosive, firm and stable while fading away for a jumpshot.

I think when Kobe jumps off balance, he uses his leg primarily to STOP rotation when his hips are square rather than just create rotation. The physics of kicking the right leg forward will stop counterclockwise rotation, for example, due to conservation of momentum.
