Thanks for the opinion. You would prefer a squeaking drill, because then you have to put the plugs in, which equates to no sound. :)

Gotta give you props for doing this but still... What if the bar you're drilling is 16 1/8" and is stuck inside a 16" tube? You gotta drill out the bar. Then replace the bar. Then drill perfectly centered bolt holes. Ugh. My plight.

First you want to drill a rod to pull it out? And it's only 1/8 inch? Is there any way to thread it out and pull it out?
@doordash-nh1ih Жыл бұрын
@@SILVESTROThingS negative. The tube is 16" long. The bar inside it is 16-1/8" so the bar is just longer than the tube. The bar needs come out lubed up and re-inserted. Then must rotate freely inside the tube. Snow Machine suspension parts.

@@doordash-nh1ih You didn't mention the diameter of the pipe and rod. But since it's a suspension, I think it has to be at least 4 inches in diameter. You need some kind of actuator to get the rod out and you probably won't be able to do central drilling without a lathe. I hope the pipe is not bent...😁

@@SILVESTROThingS dudes at the machine shop were able to press it out and said that if I wire brush the tube, the rod can be used again even though both are very slightly bent. We'll see.

Drill size?
@SILVESTROThingS2 жыл бұрын
Good question. I used drills with a diameter greater than 8 mm. With short drilling, I think you could eat up to a diameter of 6 mm, which is the same as in the guides for holesaws.

I don't get it!!!

Understood. The friction between the drill bit and the object in the bearing is greater than on the bearing balls. When we press the drill against the workpiece, it will start to rotate. In order for the drill to start plunging, the movement of the object placed in the bearing must be blocked, in the video I use pliers. If we release the lock every now and then, the workpiece will rotate around the drill axis. If the number of revolutions of the workpiece around the axis is smaller than the number of revolutions of the drill, we obtain drilling similar to the operation of a lathe.
