Why on earth would anyone give this video a thumbs down? What more can that one person ask for? I'd like to thank Kreg for taking the time to publish this clear, concise, straightforward instructional video, and also for producing such high-quality products. I can't wait to use my new Kreg Stand and Precision Router Table Top.

This video should be updated to discuss the (apparently new) location marks on the router plate that give indications of where to drill for popular routers. For example, the Bosch router that they show in this video is one that will work with the pre-located marks. On the underside of the mounting plate, there are two sets of three tiny starter holes. The instructions label them P1 and P2. The Bosch (and others) fit the P1 holes. These locations are different than the four holes that are used to mount the Bosch "normal" base and there are only three of them instead of four. Once you take the plate off the Bosch, you will see that there are these three additional mounting threaded holes and these line up with the P1 starter holes in the Kreg plate. The instructions that come with the Kreg plate discuss this but none of the videos from Kreg talk about it. The hardest part is locating the hole for the under table height adjustment. It's totally blind because now you are not using the router base as a template. Seems like Kreg could provide a PDF hole template that would help to line up drilling holes for this kind of thing.

I had the same issues when it came to drilling the hole for the height adjustment tool for my Bosh router. After drilling the 3 holes (P1), I cut a Q-tip and inserted the shaft ( not the cotton portion) into the adjustment srew. I marked the top of it with a red grease pencil. Then installed the insert plate on top of the router. This transferred the red mark onto the insert plate giving me the correct location to drill. I hope this helps .

What size holes? My router screws are 5/32 but the holes in the router plate are much larger. Should the drill match the screws or the size of the holes in the router plate?

What if I have changed my router? Or I have a corded one bosch using at home, and cordless one using outside? Shall i be forced to drill 8 holes? Or i should be forced to buy an additional plate which is not available at the county I live in?

bonjour il faut un foret bois ou metal svp ?

It is made of a Phenolic Resin. Either would be fine to drill. If drilling by hand, a brad point bit may be more accurate.

This pains me to say because I had to say this about a Ryobi product a few weeks ago, but this router table is hot garbage! I bought this table for $124 at Lowes - on sale from $250. I thought I hit the jackpot. What I realize now is that Lowes couldn't give this thing away unless some shcmuck - me - bought it. Well, I'm not a schumk but I am green at wood working and the important lesson I learned today? Steer clear of Kreg products. The clamps to fasten down the fence? Garbage. The instruction book is barely understandable. The packaging had most of the screws and parts in un-marked pouches so you had to almost guess which screw was called for in the instructions. The list goes on. I paid $124 for this item and in my opinion it was over priced by $100.

So basically they were too lazy to pre drill the holes.

One person is mad because he didn't watch this video before he ruined his router plate.... and probably didn't read the instruction either.
