Really good video Carl, Can you do a video about what to check on the boat when you buy it first time? Is it worth it to pay someone to do the survey? Pros contras.. something like that? What is the financial side of it? How much they charge you for mooring? Also insurance? I don’t know about this things as I just going to do my licence in England. Hey thanks buddy and a great & very important question too.. this is also covered in 2 other "Boating for beginners" video's i've done, so take a look at those in more detail. It's important that you turn at the right time, very carefully so that the next fol/wave does'nt turn you over and i choose to turn ( ie from a fol sea into a head sea) at the point where you're on the crest of the fol sea, just before it drags back, turn & raise the bow to deal with the oncoming head sea. you'll feel when the best time is. also for anyone who did'nt see it. here's a vid of the dangers of a following sea, so be careful out there.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXnUnqODbbyhn9E

Yes my advice is to take it very steady, get used to how the boat handles, dont take risks, one of the signs of a good captain ( irrelavant of size of boat) is deciding when NOT to go out. Always check the sea forecast BEFORE you leave the harbour and just potter here & there within sight of the harbour to gain confidence. I have seen and met quite a few new boaters , who have been put off for life by not being careful and this is a real shame. remember how you felt the first time you drove a car, its scary but once you got the hang of it, it was fine, driving a boat is very much the same. practice driving around the harbour if its possible, then go out for 15 mins, come back, next day 30 mins etc etc and get used to going out and coming in to the harbour. its fun but take your time.

Sailboats seem to handle seas so much better and can heave to, a trait that motorboats cant do without a sea anchor...even then not having ballast down low at the keel means less stable

Could you do a video on different type of boats? for example this boat would be use to go island hopping but range is limited but this one would have no problem reaching any destination.
