Awesome! Always wanted to be a dozer operator. Never have gotten my chance. I was a underground coal miner for about 15 years. I was a roof bolter operator. Thanks for the video! Was great!

I wish my father was still alive and well. He was in ww2 as a Cb. He would fix the landing strips while they were bombing them. Cable drive back then. His pay,, 25 cents an hour. He would love how the equipment has evolved. I remember him coming home from work beat to death from the machines. While well versed in all heavy equipment, his favorite was the D8. Thanks for the video, it brought back found memories. Be careful, and God bless.

I don't know about driving a dozer. But I know how to operate a dozer, I spent 40 years in the seat operating, I have never heard of driving a dozer until now. Things have changed since I retired 12 years ago.

I learned how to operate the machine just by looking at your video. Thank You.

I really like the k, had fun driving those on a few jobs. The doors are a bit annoying and give you a whack if you're not careful. I drove one last year and like that one the fuel gauge didn't work either.

That's a decelerator, not a brake and you are supposed to work with full throttle and just use the decelerator for what you actually need.
@sandleman30062 жыл бұрын
That is a brake no decelerator on that model

Is that a brake or decelerator? I have learned when to use a decelerator. I prefer a constant gear then control speed/traction with the decelerator…. 40yr operator taught me that!
@johnburrow23294 жыл бұрын
Just a hint...one doesn't " drive" a dozer... operate is the correct verb!

One of the first things I was told as an equipment operator is you don’t “drive” equipment. You operate it or run it. I’m not nitpicking, makes no difference to me. Good tutorial on the basic controls though.

Oh dear. Such a long way from the old slewing clutches, the slewing brakes, main clutch. I have to pass on this one. Loved the old iron and the snore of the cat governor opening up under load. Sigh

i would like to know how long you have been “driving” heavy equipment. because you don’t drive it; you operate heavy equipment
@ikeybmg3 жыл бұрын
A real operator doesn't really pay attention whether someone says "drive" or "operate" lol. We're too busy working to pay attention to little bs like that.

Is there a float button for the blade? I know there’s one for a loader.
@Mabsaabnab3 жыл бұрын
Its not a button, you push the blade joystick all the forward to drop the blade. You need to do it fast to active float mode.
