Hi Pete, The first thing I do when I get to a tail lift delivery is ask the customer if they have a pallet truck, if they do have one I ask to borrow it. I use my pallet truck in my vehicle to manoeuvre the pallet onto the tail lift, lower the pallet to the floor, then use the customer’s pallet truck to load it off the tail lift then into their building.

Simple...if you know how to do it....but the consequences of a potential serious injury to oneself or damage to a customer's goods could be waiting to happen to us courier virgins....great topic sir..thanks.

It's one if those things that once you get the hang of it you can't understand how you could never do it in the first place. I'm still getting the hang of it but thanks for the vote of support.

Great video Mr Pete where is your PPE mate. Got question tho how do you get by as see your van doesn't have lower load securing hooks or track.

I only put the ppe on when I need to. Full ppe for buildng sites are a must and just a vest for depots otherwise I run in normal clothes. I wear the boots as standard but that's mainly because you don't know what the next job will be and I can't be bothered to change my shoes.

@@PetetheCourierDriver was only pulling your leg about ppe yes we all know when and where to where them as some companies very strict with health and safety.

@@PetetheCourierDriver Make sure you have Fluorescent vest on at all time when picking up and dropping off no matter where, Reasons 1) for personal safety 2) If there was an incident and your involved you have no claim 3) If HSE eg local council observe you not wearing PPE you could be fined or even your customers or customers customer could be fined 4) looks professional and shows you know and observe the rules Have a great day and take money
