By the way, in Tata Tiago AMT, we have been told, we can change from Automatic to Manual mode, without pressing the brake, even if car is running. However, you say in the video (2.36) to change from Automatic to Manual, we need to press the break. I have changed from automatic to manual - on high ways - without pressing the break! I think, you are wrong in that assumption. Would it not be dangerous to put brake while running at high speed on highway and try to change to manual?
@howzzthat4 жыл бұрын
Hi , Apologies for such a late reply , Yes you are right , However to change gear in manual mode you need to press break, That will be critical to handle while driving on hills.

Yes , i checked the video and found that @2.37 you have rightly highlighted it , i thank you for that. in this vehicle also pressing break is not required for switching from drive to manual . however to bring it out of neutral it is required.
@JustBe19745 жыл бұрын
Good that u have taken note of the above point. Regarding changing from neutral to Manual, may be yes. I never tried it while running. Our Tiago manual says, never drive the car on neutral. So sticking to that advice. In fact, I have seen some video and also heard from others too that running on neutral is not safe. In case, there is emergency and we need to respond quickly, then engine will not be in our control while being in neutral. So, I prefer to be on Manual mode and use break while going downhill.

@@JustBe1974 How is the loss of power issue in your tiago amt ??
@JustBe19744 жыл бұрын
@@amitrathore4364 Did not understand your question. If u mean to ask whether it takes time to increase the speed while overtaking etc., then answer is 'yes'. That is the only shortcoming with Tiago AMT. Other than that everything is fine so far. Have driven more than 10000km so far. But not much on highway.

Thanks for the useful video. You say, we can use Manual mode even while we are going down the hill. If slope is too sharp, straight and for a fairly good amount of distance, will not indicator ask us to increase the gear level from 1 as speed increases? So we can keep on increasing the gear as long as we feel that we are within the speed? Or should we control the speed using the brake in such a way that we are never asked to change the gear from recommended first gear? Wish to use our AMT car soon on steep hills.

Hi Be For truth and Peace , Thank you for taking out time in watching and commenting , Coming to your queries , 1# if the vehicle has been put into manual mode , then the vehicle stays in that whichever gear it is into until driver changes it , the only indicator is noise coming from car , Celerio does not have any such mechanism to advise/ ask driver to change the gear , though it shows which gear it is running on. 2# Going with my personal experience i would say coming downhill is more riskier that going uphill , reason being gravity and slope of hilly terrain and that is why i never tried enjoying speed while coming downhill and i suggest you the same , the idea behind this was to live to drive and see more and many places . so safety and only safety was on priority. 3# Using breaks regularly will heat it up and all of a sudden it surprises , so always take proper amount of break while coming downhill , this will let you enjoy the beauty of nature and keeps the journey going and safe. i went to Ooty with this vehicle many times , that has 36 sharp hairpin bends and the drive is also steep and lengthy , so i decided to take 10 mins break after passing 12 bends , and thus was able to finish all of them without any trouble in 3 strokes. i hope this would be useful for you , i wish you a safe and happy journey in coming days ... let me know if you have any further queries. Thank you for watching .

Hi Jyothis , Thank you for taking out time in watching and posting your query, first of all congratulations for your new vehicle , I can understand your query completely as i have sometimes faced it in the beginning , however let me assure you this is not an issue , i would advise to use manual mode whenever you need a better control over vehicle in terms of power and control on acceleration.
