One thing he missed....whenever you reach your destination, before switching off the ignition, put the car in Neutral first and then after few second shift to Park Mode. Many people just shift from D to P. This will impact transmission.

I think when we stop at a red light the dct automatically disengages the clutch from the transmission as good as neutral so no need to put in neutral....is it right.

I had the bad experience of battery dying in an automatic and not knowing about it much like others bystanders but thankfully i was at a petrol station, though it wasnt of much help but my family was safe in the night atleast! Another issue that i would like to mention is that it is difficult if your tyre gets punctured and you have an automatic, many tyre change people wouldnt know how to take the tyre off for an automatic! It was a cumbersome thing i experienced in middle of nowhere while it happened and the tyre wala was in surprise at his inability to remove the tyre too.

true some people say stay in drive mode. brake pad replacement will cost you less than transmission issue

If the stop is 5 to 10 sec keep holding the brake pedal as modern day cars disengage the clutch while brake pedal is being pressed so no pressure on transmission. If it's a longer stop on red-light you should put it in N then use handbrake and thereafter release brake pedal

Thank you Very informative video. I own a VW Taigun Automatic variant. Sometimes in the drive mode I feel there is a delay in shifting process so I use paddle shift to change the gear after enough speed is attained . Is that a right practice or will the gear system get damaged ???

Yes. If you carefully notice the D drive and S sequential shift are at the same level of marking so they can be shifted while in motion but do not try with any other mode.

Can you put AT car on down Hill slope at 110 KM Speed in Neutral gear & let it run for a distance and when there is no slope with speed of 70KM put it in the Drive Mode (Gear) so that I can get in my speed ? I asked company showroom person and they said Yes . Please correct me if I am wrong.

How does idle start stop system works. If you keep pressing brake on d mode or or neutral mode auto start stop sytem activates. I have experienced this in my new vehicle purchased but it works sometimes and sometimes it does not.
