Just one thing, be relaxed and at ease as possible in mountains. Don't be too attentive and controlling, that increases stress and contracts muscles which makes your legs heavy. My two cents: 1. Just drive slow in mountains. Can't put emphasis enough on this. Mountain roads are not for speeding but heavy drivers still do that. 1000 times you will escape 1 time it will hurt and can even take your life. 2. Be very defensive at tight angles. Don't overtake and over-honk at curves. You are panicking both oncoming and ongoing traffic. 3. Keep a close look at how your car is behaving. Burnt clutch plate and heated brake pads sometimes dampen driving experience. Those are signals that either your car needs a break or you are pushing the limits of the car which can cause serious damage. Be vigilant and assess quickly.

Don't think about restarting car in such situation. Immediately press the foot pedal brake and once the car stops rolling backwards, immediately engage the handbrake. This is must for safety. Now you can restart the engine with the key by turning off and on. When driving on hills, handbrake should be engaged any time the car comes to a standstill due to whatever reason.
