Good one...but one most important tip which will save your life when you are driving down hill. Never use your breaks as much as possible, this will cause your break drum or disc to heat up and lead to break failure. Try to control the speed with your gears. GROUND RULE DURING DOWN HILL - NEVER COAST ON NEUTRAL GEAR.

Wanted to add a real life experience, this might help people who end up doing what I did. This was back in Valparai which is my hometown, I was driving down hill with my friends, the car, hyundai accent was fully packed and while I was about to cover the 10th hair pin bend. Since I was fairly new to hill driving i had my legs fixed the break pedal all the way down and this heated up the break drum which I did not expect. At the 10th bend there was a tempo traveler parked aside the road dacijg down hill. In order to deviate I had applied the break and then realised that the break failed, the pedal was compressed fully but there was no use. Just when i was about to hit the vehicle i applied the hand break, the car made a 360 swirl and stopped right near the TT. We were zapped for a moment not knowing what had happened. I could have shifted gears to reduce speed but my reflex pushed me to pull the break. This was a big learning for me and could have costed 5 lives. So beware people, dont do this, always play with your gears when driving down hill. This is posted in the interest of everyone driving down a hill.

Tip- On uphill drive, no matter how powerful your vehicle is or whichever the car maybe. As correctly said, windows down and keep the AC off..I have seen plenty of cars engine overheated because of running AC and going on 2-3 gears..Too much stress on engine..Take my word I'm a frequent Mysore Ooty traveller by car..seen all Mercedes,BMWs, Innovas struggling to go up hill. DOWNHILL TIP, put the car in 2nd gear slot and drive down. Be strictly on your lane. DO NOT ACCELERATE ON U TURNS, COME OUT of THE U TURN AND THEN ACCELERATE. Curve roads driving Tip- always apply brake pedal before the curve to lower speed, make the turn and stabilise the car, then press accelerator pedal Seen lot of these happenings- Mysore Ooty routes (both route gudalur or kalhatty)

Driving in kollimalai is a very difficult task even during day time.. Really inspiring to note night driving.. good skills. Half of the fools don't give way to bigger vehicles or even to smaller vehicles when they are climbing up .

Good one bro.. i drove 12k kms in my car... Last time when i was travel to chikmagalur, In steep i couldn't claim.. i felt my car got zero power to claim.. somehow with help of friend to climp up.. I was in second gear.. i m having honda amaze petrol car.. what do i need to do if i get in to that situation..? that was full steep.. literally car is going down after keeping full handbreak .

Yes bro i can understand the situation..its very difficult for petrol car to climb up in very steep hills because of low torque..There are 2videos in our channel for slope handling..do watch it 1) engage handbrake with more pressure than normal so that car wont roll back..if still it rolls back, then only way is to keep a small stone/rock at back tyre and climb forward 2) give enough acceleration of about 2000rpm and then release handbrake 3) hold the clutch at balance point( little above biting point) about 70% release of clutch and hold it there so that vehicle remains standstill and then accelerate
