I’m not sure. Maybe you are staying in neutral? The car starts in neutral and every time you shift gears it will go back into neutral until the gear shift is in the correct position. Check and make sure you are shifting fully. I hope that helps!

Unfortunately there is no support for irl sim rigs like steering wheels. I think it would be a great addition to the game but I believe the dev wants the game to be more of an arcade style game rather than a sim game.

I had to physically move my headset outside of the play area/car. There is only 1 camera mode in V Speedway and that’s first person FOV

I’m not sure I understand what you mean. If you are referring to your seat position, there is an option to adjust that which I mentioned at the start of the video. Make sure you re-center yourself by holding the oculus button before making adjustments to your seat.

Why are you basing your gear changes on your speed? You must not be familiar with it in real life. You should base your gear changes off of your RPMs. In this car, 1st gear is at 4K RPM, 2nd is 6.7K RPM, 3rd is 7K, and 4th is 7.2K. That's what it looks like just based on a quick watch of this video. Fyi, if you want to drive the fastest, your cornering needs to be on point. When you come into a corner, you brake until you're able to engage the throttle 100% again. You don't feather the throttle. Also, you try to hit the apex of the corner, and hopefully, you get good enough to where you're engaging the throttle 100% as you're hitting the apex. And obviously, when you lose grip in your tyres for any reason, you are slowing your lap time down. You need to maintain grip and take the corners as I said. And THAT is how you will go fast.

I work at a car shop so I’m very familiar with what you are talking about however this game is not realistic at all and it is an easier concept for a novice to understand if I give the max speed rather than rpm since this is an arcade game and you can’t damage the engine. If you already know how to drive manual then you wouldn’t need the tutorial right? You can’t stall these cars, there is no clutch, and unlike real cars your speed maxes out at a certain point for each gear regardless of rpm (in a real car you could continue to go faster but it would damage the engine) so rpm is irrelevant but I guess I could have included those values. Also this is a guide on how to drift and maintain speed, not how to go fast. I appreciate the feedback and yes it is faster to drive grip than drift but that isn’t the point of the video. You are more than welcome to make a video on apexes ect but it’s irrelevant here since my goal isnt to teach people how to get on the leaderboard but how to have fun in an arcade game.
