I always play one vanilla run of a game, but this time I get to have fun with another one trying out all these glitches.

Pro tip for anybody trying the mid air dupe: Step 1: go to your house(near Tarrey Town[if not, do the quest for the house]) Step 2: Stand on a 1 block high grid(as in 1 house block tall) Step 3(IMPORTANT): Attempt the glitch but dont press dpad immediately. Just wait until link's torso is about alligned to the top of the block Step 4: After pressing the dpad once: IMMEDIATELY PRESS IT AGAIN, NO MATTER IF LINK MOVES HIS HAND(but he will and the faster the better) Step 5: Take finger off of r button and release dpad. Step 6:Press dpad again and then press x How to know if it works: if on step 6 you dont see the item you want to dupe (x0), you timed it wrong If you don't see x to drop, the glitch failed THESE STEPS HELPED ME DUPE MORE THAN FORTY ITEMS!

There are lots of locations in the overworld that are good for the height, but the most portable is the stake stuck tip only into the ground. Easy to mount, easy to vault from, and always at hand.

This genuinely makes the game so much more fun to play. I can ride dragons without thinking about which parts I need to collect, I can fuse whatever valuable item I want to my weapons without stressing over if the base is durable enough to make it worth it, and I can dump 5 large zonai charges into the dispensers for no reason other than the serotonin it gives me to see that ridiculous amount of devices pouring out! And the MTD dupe is so versatile too! Missing one item to upgrade clothes? You don’t even need to go anywhere special to do the glitch, just do a backflip off the back of the fairy fountain and bam, you have enough items now. And, since it’s limited to 21 items and doesn’t work on critters, it doesn’t completely erase the grind. So I feel like it’s at that perfect balance where I can still enjoy the slow gathering of items throughout the game, while also not getting frustrated at having to constantly grind specific materials Thanks again for the tutorial!

@SuishiYT 7:39, from my experiences and testing, you can in fact throw in the air, it's more like, there's a certain amount of frames within the ground you don't want to throw in, but throwing after of before is just fine, however, if you throw before you only have a few frame window with that, as throwing sooner than thaat window will trigger the "can't be taken out here" prompt. I hope this made sense.

I used the Eshos Shrine at Dueling Peaks to duplicate items that burst on impact, like the 3 elemental Dragon Horns and parts. The presence of a 2nd ledge below to jump onto and the overall height of the cliff means you usually will have enough time to Stop and Reverse the item back up to you before it explodes on the ground below. Note - it's critical to toss the intended duplication item over the edge of the cliff and not at your feet, where it will explode on impact.

if you hold R before you press X to drop, you will be holding the item when you land, so you can aim it up and throw it after you've landed.

The problem isn't how you choose to toss, it is that Link glitches the throw and literally spikes the item. I saw this while editing and tried to highlight it at the 7:26 mark. You can aim wherever you like, as soon as the item leaves his hands it goes straight down.

That's why you hold R before you press X to drop. If you hold R then press X, you'll drop the item while still holding it and you can aim it anywhere after landing.

Ty, I was just goofing around on the MTD glitch while watching you and was confused as to why Link's arm wasn't moving. Never got it to move but the glitch seems to work for me, and the timing is super lenient. For anyone else who can't get Link to move just do the steps in the video: Hold item Jump back Press up on the D-pad Let go of the D-pad press it again let go of R (while holding the D-pad) press drop. Timing hardly seems to matter for this one too. Two tips are once you get it down do it in Lookout landing since you can quickly ascend up the platform, and trust me you'll be wanting to save as much time as you can if you're doing this for a long time. Second is to not pick the items up since that'll take time by forcing you to find it and drop it again, instead just leave it there and let them pile up until you're done duping and then pick them up.

This was unbelievably useful in preventing a ton of grinding for me. I appreciate it. I was just about done with hunting down Gleeoks and being utterly disappointed when 80% of them never dropped Gleeok Guts so I could upgrade my armor. Those battles are a bit too far-spaced, long, and difficult for me to be fine with continuing to throw myself at them over and over again with no luck. Just duped the guts I already had. Method 2: "Can not take that out here" issue only comes up if you try to drop the item while you're too far away from the ground! Drop it closer to the ground, and it works. Similarly, if the item doesn't appear in the drop menu, the initial timing was off. Figured it out with practice and very consistent now!

I'm really surprised nobody talks about doing the mid-air drop and dispenser storage in low gravity near the Igoshon shrine on the East side of the sky map. I realize you may have to do the Zora questline first IIRC, but there's a nice ledge up the steps from the shrine and some wings that can be used to build a ramp. And down the steps is a dispenser. If you're ambitious, you can build a scaffold near the dispenser as well.

There is in fact a super easy way to do horse minus duplication: Just paraglide down and go into bullet time above your horse, then press B and + very quickly. Hold 5 of the item you want - make sure it get's down to x0. Then just follow the steps.

For instance the jumping item sort dupe that was trending shortly after launch, was cleared out almost immediately. And now I think they've patched out the floating house thing... too many to be a coincidence. And I'm well aware that they already got my money (and most likely in the future as well)

Finally figured it out but also stumbled on something by accident doing mid air dupe. accidentally cycled over while duping ancient knife on drop phase and made an apple instead. so tried it on a diamond and it worked. hope this helps. ill be keeping one random useless thing to do dupe and cycling to what i need from now on

From my personal experience, I get an error message for the fall duping if I my first dpad press is before link’s feet are below where he jumped from. So I guess he needs to be lower than where he jumped from before you press the dpad.

That's when he starts 'falling' so I think you are right there. The other time I see an error message it usually means there isn't clearance for the item behind me so I need to change where I'm jumping from or how I'm jumping. I dupe during runs so I don't want to waste time running back to the same spot. I've found a lot of really good spots.

so the "in between" is the delay in his animation. You want to press X in the air but you want your feet to hit the ground before the animation of the item leaving his hand

@@bmuDLuck Yeah, that's a good spot since the low gravity doesn't let it drop when thrown (or at least not nearly as fast) and it helps when going off the ledge too. What I was doing was different than what the two of you were doing. The item didn't even need to be thrown and you could get the duplication while the item would stay in your inventory. Even though the timing was a little tight. But I think the way you showed there was probably faster.

I went from a 5% success rate to nearly 80% - 90%. I kept getting, "You can't take this item out now." I thought it was my up press timing but that wasn't the issue. The issue was that I wasn't close enough to the ground. I was jumping off and immediately starting the up presses. Wait until about halfway down the fall and then try it. Started working like a charm!

I have made the most important discovery in totk glitch history ( im probs not the first tho). it does not matter whatsoever where link's arm is. it only matters that link's torso is below the ledge that you jump off of by the 3rd up press (the one where Suishi says link's arm needs to be at about a 45 degree angle. i tried for 5 weeks on and off with the steps shown in this vid with essentially no success. then today i tried with the method i just mentioned and duped 7 additional zonaite in around A MINUTE. (PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ *PLZ* pin this comment; the people have every right to know imo.) (edit)Honestly, this isn't as important as I'm stressing it to be, but it's insanely helpful especially because Link's elevation actually does matter AND YOU *LITERALLY SAID IT DOESN'T SO YEAH!* [additional edit] 1) equip a shield. all that needs to be below the ledge is basically just everything below the top of the shield. 2) It does matter how much time spaces out the 2nd and 3rd d-pad up presses, but nothing else time-related matters. leave a reply if you're confused or have had massive success!

It's such a shame vendor scamming doesn't work in 1.2.1 I had that timing down, man. I was so consistent. And then I find out all (but five) of my diamonds are gone 😭 thankfully I saved beforehand

We were so disappointed with how this played out. When filming that section last time I wasn't able to perform the glitch so Suishi did it. Problem is I'm the one on version 1.2.1 not him... So we were just testing the mechanics of the inputs, not stressing the idea of the glitch being patched like it was.

I was able to sure a few glitches while on 1.2. If i buy a 2nd switch can i move my TOTK data over to it? and play TOTK from a cartridge lets say 1.0.0?

so if you were to buy a new switch, you could move the save data by uploading it to cloud storage, transferring your account to the new system, then redownloading the save data there, however that would only let you use that save data on the same version. If the save is for version 1.2 and youre playing on a new system thats on version 1.0.0, the save data will be incompatible unless you update the game on the new system

Can you only have one item in inventory for mtd ? Or many ? And if so where do I store the rest of the items (diamond)

You can only do mtd with 1 of the item in your inventory. You can store any extras you have in a dispenser using dispenser storage. It should be shown in this video

I was using a hover stone with a cart attached to dupe hearty food, and I think I stumbled upon something? Apparently cooking while using a zonai device resets your battery.

I found that when you MTD you dont need a shield to dupe items

I find the new MTD is not too hard to do once you get the hang of it, it didn't really help me the first time I tried that I was looking for the hand movement, in fact it doesn't really matter, I found it's much easier to time it in your head so it becomes mechanical, and even if you press the d pad up several times it still works, as long as it's open at the correct frames, and the drop button appears. I wish there was a way to duplicate weapons like that though

You aren't wrong but we can't explain it that way. The reality is the middle up press is only helping buffer and time the release of R. I only use two up presses myself and just let go of R with the right timing that is now drilled into my head. Most of the time if I'm having problems with it now it is because I need to jump a different direction because the item drop is being obstructed.

@@SIDEWAYS255 Yeah I think what works is just trying endlessly until the good timing becomes muscle memory, then it's fairly consistent. I do find it easier to jump backwards, while facing away, otherwise the camera angle messes up the timing sometimes

You can’t have more than 21 items on the ground pick them up and sell them or use them because to dupe you can only have 1 in your inventory

The duplication glitches are too hard to do. I tried for roughly 30 minutes and still couldn't do it so i gave up doing it
