You all have been asking how to dye a wig. Now you all know that I love a good old fashion wig transformation! So in this wig tutorial, I'm using a frontal wig to dye. I'm showing you all of my wig tips and tricks to get this frontal wig hack done!

I need to dye a wig {to darken it} but I was going to use Ritz synthetic dye. What is your opinion on that?

I have videos on how to do it with Rit dyemore synthetic dye. I would recommend that method if it’s a straight wig.

You definitely can. It may dye the cap some but the lace is fine. I haven’t had issue with the lace taking the color but if you do a rainbow wig your cap will look like skittles threw up in it. 🤣

Hi, would it be possible to put the mixture into a bowl instead of the spray bottle and agitate it to make sure all layers are covered?

What did you tone the long curly one behind you ..I have a couple straight and a long curly that are the ick yellow blonde and I want them to be an ash colour like the curly one on your wall. So what ink colour would you use I was thinking of a purple And what Ritz dye colour would you use to turn yellow blonde to an ash tone ?? The eggplant ??

How would you get silver color?

You could tone a blonde wig to get a more white base and then you could do a Rit dye method with a grey or this method with a grey and it would give you a silver/grey color.

The packs on Amazon have some good browns and auburns in them and you could always add a tiny bit of red or burgundy if you wanted to warm it up. You could also go with the red dye method if you’re wanting to do a Brunette auburn. It just depends on if you’re working on a curly wig or a straight one.

You have to tweak the formula alittle but yes. I will get a video going on how to do it with RIT!

Okay this Video is so helpful thank you!! I have tried this with a light blue wig and just darken the other half dark blue with liquitex ink and 99% alcohol but it was like bleeding out even after washing it two times. So I guess 70% is the way? I just ordered new color because the blue isn’t dark enough for me. So I hope that with the 70% alcohol it will work and don’t bleed out. So my question? You don’t have the problem with bleeding wigs after coloring? It’s just grabbing into the wig and then my hand has some color spots. I hope someone can give me some advice:)

I have found you have to rinse it really really really well with some Dawn and then I let it dry and then wash and rinse it again. It’s almost like the hair holds some color and then pushes it to the surface.

I'm going to be doing this method on a blonde wig breezy waves that I'm purchasing because I love breezy waves but it doesn't come in a natural red color so I purchased The ink dies and I'm going to try it on that wig now because it's a blonde all the way to the root I'm probably thinking I need to go ahead and put it in a dye bath verse Spraying it on because I need to also color the cap the color of the hair because I don't want blonde cap and the hair is a reddish brownish color. It doesn't have a lace front I don't think but even if it does I don't care because it has bangs and it'll cover it and I can cut it off anyway I don't really care for lace fronts. So crossing my fingers and saying some prayers if you have any videos that show coloring to a nice reddish brown i'd like to know what measurements you used for that in which color dies please let me know😊

I haven’t done a red yet. You just want to make sure it’s nice and dark and concentrated so it doesn’t wash out looking pink. I would add a few drops of black if you need to darken the red up some too. You could use rit Dyemore synthetic dye to achieve a red too via a soak I haven’t used the ink dye to submerge a wig in so I’m curious to see your results!! Send me photos after on IG or email me! A light brown but it won’t lift so the color will be deeper and muted.
