Fabulous tutorial, thank you for showing every stage of the process I now feel this is something I can do. Your videos are so, detailed, easy to follow and full of inspiration 👍🙌🫶. I did wince when you were lifting the dye baths out of the sink. Thank you for taking the time to share xx

I dye a lot of yarn, when I Ombré dye I keep the un dyed yarn out of the bowl and dye in reverse. It’s much easier as I lower the undyed yarn in to the dye rather than keep taking more out at intervals to achieve ombré dying. It’s a much cleaner and easier process. So the first bit goes in then ten mins later a bit more and so on etc. So the first bit has been in there the longest and will have the deepest colour. The it all comes out at once. Much cleaner and easier process.. lovely colours and another nice video to watch. Thank you. And hope your arm is okay.. craft related injuries !!

Yes,of course. That would be the proper way to do the Ombré. It was an after thought while I was doing the video. Lol. I was sore for awhile. Just moved the wrong way. Silly me.

This is inspirational and amazing to watch the colors emerge. I really appreciate how you took the time to go through the entire process, and all the tips. Simple, no special equipment. I have wanted to try these bowls, with color but the wrapping did not appeal to me. I prefer the clean look of the cord. The dye is Brilliant and something I will try. So thank you.

The dye takes a bit of time but once it’s done it’s so much easier to whip up some nice baskets. Have fun!

One of my macrame plant hangers that I made is all finished with wooden dowels in it, not just cotton rope. I am going to test it, and put the whole thing inside the dye. I tried coloring my twisted cotton rope, but its hard got get the dye all the way through, when i cut the rope its still have white part inside. I hope you can help me 🥰
@CraftyPattiArtsCrafts3 жыл бұрын
I dyed cotton rope in this video and it was fine. But saying that, some of my rope has a synthetic core. The synthetic core will not dye. If that’s not the case then I’m thinking leave it in the dye bath longer or use more concentrated dye bath solution or the dye bath was not hot enough. Just wondering, is there a reason you need the inside of the rope perfectly coloured as well? Is the outside of the rope a solid colour?
@curlytops1035 жыл бұрын
Does the color fade over time?
@CraftyPattiArtsCrafts5 жыл бұрын
If you are using the Rit dye for T-shirt’s and clothing that are being washed a lot then it will fade. If your doing the rope bowls which are not being washed hardly at all then the color should hold up for a long time. If they are sitting in direct sunlight than you may get some fading.
