Another video that makes far more sense than most others on YT about wheelies. I'm pretty rubbish at wheelies,The one thing thats always bothered me is when i was a kid i could do the "beginning step"you show here.Now finally after all these years i have to go back to being a kid again to learn how to do it properly!I will start again Shane soon...ish and very carefully on the big old 525exc!!

Yep, go buy one of these low cost used "play" bikes, ride the hell out of it and make huge improvements, and then you can sell it for essentially the same price that you bought it for (you'll end up keeping it!!).

I've watched a few recent videos form IRC Tires with Rich Larson talking about a technique he's stating all the top riders use called "power collection". Basically, the technique is using the bike's power on the falling side of the rpm's as opposed to the traditional use of power as the bike rev's up. The theory is that "power collection" is more efficient and improves traction because falling rpm's are always consistent, whereas rising rpm's are variable based on throttle input. I've played with the technique, which not only requires a complete brain re-train for throttle and clutch control but body movement, suspension activation and f/r brake use. My feeling is the technique adds too many layers of coordination and complexity for the average rider, just to loft the front wheel. Personally, I'm too old, set my ways and I don't plan to compete in hard enduro, so I like your techniques and progression better😎
@DirtWiseRidingSchool2 ай бұрын
Exactly mate with what you noted on this "technique" that he wants to assert "....the top riders all do it BUT THEY JUST DON'T KNOW IT....", ha, ha!!!! I've already slightly addressed this BS in some recent videos but I've got several more in-depth videos coming down the pipe line to address this asinine content, which he has created seemingly just to create "content" which as you say is for the goal of just lofting the front wheel. And FYI, "descending rpm" is NOT consistent because this rate of descent is relative to how much load (how much the clutch is being engaged) is placed on the motor!!! Go give it heaps mate!!
@Ingloriousingletrack2 ай бұрын
@@DirtWiseRidingSchool I use throttle-on power to launch or loft, then cut power by the throttle / clutch when traction or less carry through is needed. This way has been getting me over shit for a long time now 😎

And that is the preferred and easiest way to do it!!!

Hi Shane, 125cc what use the rear and front tooth ? Thanks 🙏
@DirtWiseRidingSchool2 ай бұрын
Somewhat depends on if you're riding either extreme ends of the trail spectrum (mega tight and steep, or extended long open desert roads), but I believe stock gearing is 13/50 and that will be real good for generally most situations.
