What do you recommend for gear box oil? 80w90?

Any 90 weight. However in these karts we don’t recommend filling it, and we rarely ever have to add any.

Thanks. Got another question maybe you can answer. Kart runs for approx 20mins and shuts down. I’ve tried adjusting the carb. I’ve tried different carbs. I’m thinking it’s some sort of fuel flow problem. Please help if you could offer some suggestions

@@freightdog5623 if it’s a fuel flow problem, it’s most likely the mesh filter inside your tank or debris in the fuel line. You may be getting an air lock in the fuel lines. I’d start by draining all the fuel, then pull the fitting out of the bottom of the tank. Clean everything well. It’s a good idea to replace your fuel lines and filter while you’re at it. What we find is that 2 things can happen: 1. There is a piece of grass inside a fuel line. It is so thin, it will allow fuel to pass through. But after some time under suction, it will either cause an air bubble and then an air lock or it will get pulled sideways and no longer let fuel through. 2. Debris floating in the gas eventually gets suctioned down onto the mesh filter and clogs all of the holes in the mesh. Each time the kart turns off and relieves the pressure, the debris floats free and allows the fuel to flow again. It’s a confusing cycle because you can’t see it, and it takes a bit for the issue to arise. Be extra careful when putting new fuel in so you don’t accidentally get any dirt or debris into the tank! Try these steps and then let us know if you need further trouble shooting!

Engine ship dry and need oil? One oil shared by engine and trans?

This kart comes with oil in it from the factory. It is a lower quality oil than what we would normal use and sometimes needs to be topped off. We suggest a synthetic 10w30. The mid kart does take a 90 weight transmission grease, just a couple ounces but it comes pre-lubed and you shouldn’t need to top it off. Just FYI, These details will be different for the larger model karts.
