I didn’t think the rubber band would help much but it did. Sometimes it just takes a little out of the box thinking! Thanks. Also, for the folks struggling with wall jumps: In this game, you MUST keep your directional stick facing against the direction of the wall THEN jump to perform the wall jump. Switching to the other direction too soon will cause your character to just slip off without a jump.

Play as the elephant mario and use Fast Dash carefully and you will compensate for any mistakes and not miss the last few blocks. The elephant is larger so there is even more room to hit the walls as well as fast dash compensating for being behind. (I tried probably literally close to 100 times between small mario and regular and the elephant then took me 1 try.)

How I eventually beat it was play online, make sure there's 4 people in the room, get about half way, die and fly as a ghost to the end and there's usually a person or a standee to save you.

Anyone who has played Nintendo since its debut, should already know the Y button should always be pressed down to go faster. That’s nothing new. Also, hold the Y button down should just be second nature to most players.

I was only able to complete this once switching to yoshi and using the fluttering high jump badge. Yoshi has a larger body compared to small Mario making it easier to hit small wall targets and he can float more at the end of his jumps… took me around 200 failed attempts and then completed it with 10 tries after switching to yoshi

@@Matthew93256 and don’t worry about the lives… you can buy 99 lives for 300 purple coins and you should get more than 300 purple coins in this level even if you go through all 99 lives (I think I went through 99 lives twice trying to beat this level and ended with more purple coins than I started with)

The only real problem I got with this level is my hands get tired and start failing the timing at the end... so my strategy was to pause the game on certain parts... get a little rest and continue. It made all easier.

Instead of a rubber band, I remapped the Y button to ZL, and I can comfortably hold it down on my pro controller.

I used my daughters hair bobble and a spare thumb grip to hold down the button and had flutter jump and it worked in minutes. Must have failed 150-200 times before that! Thanks for the heads up! Great advice

@enigmind1 looks like you understood correctly :) maybe not just make it about 1 level. example: first 1 minute go over "the problem" such as rising lava and loosing lives. then spend a minute going over the badge to use and how it works. then show 1-3 levels that it would be useful for..
