There is supposed to be an air dodge button which flips you in whatever direction you are going toward. Aside from that I'm a pc player so I don't know the specific buttons people use on controller

@@PrototypeNinja1001 First off thank you for the reply. Air dodge is what I use as my "normal air jump." Does the flip in the air just no where near the same speed or distance.

mag flips can either speed you up or slow you down depending how you take them so doing a normal air dodge into nothing usually does not catch up to a mag flip. this is why its the new meta for this season

drifting while doing the mag is much easier to pull of a mag but can be slower than directly doing the mag. its two versions to do it however in some cases like riviera where doing a drift mag on the castle can be much more effective. it all depends on the map and how well you can travel on the road while doing these things

@DrGreenThumb2911 I’ve come to terms with the mag flip concept but what’s really really hard is this new technique called “b-hops” aka bunny hops. It’s so overpowered that when somebody gets good at doing them it becomes overwhelmingly difficult to compete with somebody that can consistently do them. It pertains to you landing on one tire and immediately side slip (rinse repeat). It resets your side flip and lets you maintain your max speed for a much longer duration.
