There is a setting to enable and disable predator pals. I tried the render distance thing a thousand times and nothing popped... then I went to look at server settings and predator pals were disabled by default...

Yeah, i feel your pain. That's actually how I figured out the render trick worked, though lol. I was annoyed that the one I found after a while disappeared, so I just kept flying back and forth until it spawned again.

I think there might be an increased chance for predator pals at nighttime. Just a hunch, as I tend to find them more often during nights.

There might be something to that. I think the majority of the ones I found were also at night. Or maybe they're just easier to spot at nighttime.

@@Symoh1 When you can hear them from 100 meters away, like shinies, I don't think it's a spotting issue at least. Might be RNG, might be intentional or might be just nighttime shenanigans when there are different pal spawns all around.

Yes, i just tested this, and it seems like they do respawn. Not sure about the timer, though.

Do they have a respawn time like bosses in shrines after you kill em or can you use the render trick to respawn them?

I just tested this, and I can confirm that they do respawn, but I'm not sure of the timer. My guess is 1 hr like other bosses. I did the render trick for 10 mins after killing one, then got bored and gave up, lol

I don't understand why most of these predator pals don't appear for me. For example the elphidran you showed doesn't spawn there even when I checked in multiple times, the only pals that have spawed for me are tarantriss, direhowl, vanwyrm and gorricat

Honestly, I'm not sure, sorry. Maybe it's a glitch, or you've just been unlucky with the spawns, or maybe they changed something since I made the video like the pals only appearing at certain times of the day or something.

could be worse. my friends and I have spent hourssss reseting zones to try to find a single spawn. we are now 6 days in with 0 spawns on any preds.

Idky this map is being displayed for everyone when half the Pred pals dont ever spawn according to where they are on the map. Is there an accurate map somewhere?

That's interesting. I've found all the bosses in the areas the map says. If you go to the website and zoom in all the way in, you might get a much more accurate location.
