I removed my disposal years ago. I never really used it. I only turned it on once in awhile just to see if it was working! I installed a double basket drain in both sides of the sink. Instead of running a disposal, I just empty the junk in the basket into the trash.

Definitely an option. I’d would not do it if you have a dish washer bc that tube enables the stuff to properly get shredded before going through your plumbing.
